Could be, thanks to the new rule emphasis. It seems like the officiating has relaxed a bit since November, though.kalm wrote:It seems like there are more points being scored in men's games so far. Yes?

I made the trip to Stanford. Solid showing on the road for the Hornets. They battled tough through foul trouble against a Stanford team that had a significant height advantage inside. It was a 2 point game late in the 2nd half. The Hornets just couldn't get a shot to fall and then ran out of gas in the closing minutes.

Oh and Maples Pavilion is a very unimpressive place. I was disappointed considering how flush with cash the P12 and Stanford is.

Looking at some pics I noticed we put up some banners to try and cover up the hideousness of The Nest. Lipstick on a pig but they don't look too bad. A lot better than those generic team banners that were up previously.Mvemjsunpx wrote: Women

I went a few games at the Nest when I lived in Sac, a mid size high school gym is giving it the benefit of the doubt. Sac needs a decent place if they are ever going to have real success.

Yup. New digs are needed and a fundraiser drive is currently under way. The new university president has the events center and a new science building as priority projects and it was announced this past fall that construction on the science building is scheduled to start in 2017. One down, one to go.Jjoey52 wrote:I went a few games at the Nest when I lived in Sac, a mid size high school gym is giving it the benefit of the doubt. I now state the pre season experts were wrong on ISU, they will not finish in 12 and could end up as high as 6th.

That's not just the Sac scoring record. It's the Big Sky scoring record as well. Oddly enough, though, it's not even close to the NCAA scoring record. LBSU routed San Jose State 149-69 back in FEB '87....Mvemjsunpx wrote:

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

That's what I meant; they broke their own Big Sky scoring record (which they had previously broken just 11 days earlier against Irvine). Of course, in-between they shot 22% in a bad loss to Cal Poly. I'm not sure anything sums up Sac State's oddities better than this:SuperHornet wrote:That's not just the Sac scoring record. It's the Big Sky scoring record as well.
