Re: Big Sky Basketball Thread, 2016-17
Is UND going to give the BSC the big middle finger on the way out they door by winning both the football AND the basketball titles?

Idaho/Weber going to OT…
The Vandals, up 3, deliberately fouled Senglin with 3 seconds left. Senglin made the first & intentionally missed the second, but… Idaho committed a foul on the rebound and Hill(?) made 2 free throws to tie it with 0.1 remaining!

Idaho wins it in overtime, anyway. If NoDak wins (as expected), Weber will be eliminated from the #1-seed.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Idaho/Weber going to OT…

Tyler Hall named Big Sky Mens player of the week, along with college Basketball "Mid-Major" player of the week. This was for his Basketball playing against the University of Montana grizzlies. THE Montana State University won said game last Saturday in Bozeman...

The Bobcats did manage to avoid falling behind in the overall series for the first time since… well, probably before anyone on this board was even born.Grizalltheway wrote:Well at least that streak didn't get to 16.SACCAT wrote:Tyler Hall named Big Sky Mens player of the week, along with college Basketball "Mid-Major" player of the week. P.S. Get use to the losses, we have 4 kids coming in next year for basketball that are probably ready for the NBA hall of fame right now, but the NCAA makes them get learned first.

Any chance you could send them to Missoula instead? We have a bit of a student shortage going on.SACCAT wrote:I am a BOBCAT fan...I will take the wins where and when I get them...They don't happen as much as they should FOR NOW!!Mvemjsunpx wrote:

NO....They would just get in arguments with each other and not "Bond" as a team. Then your coach would have to sit them out for a couple games to show that, even though he is only 5'6", HE IS THE COACH!!!...Grizalltheway wrote:Any chance you could send them to Missoula instead? 3/1 Scores
A strange night as the bottom-3 teams all won. NoDak clinched a share of the title (though not the #1-seed), and SUU clinched last place despite winning.
- Women
SUU 64-63 EWU; Thunderbirds win the glass 46-25
UNC 57-50 PSU; In the third quarter, the Viks went 1/11 and had 7 turnovers
UND 92-78 SAC; NoDak somehow didn't win the boards, but they did shoot 56%
NAU 76-61 ID; Vandals now 1-11 when shooting under 30% from the arc
WEB 46-71 UMT; Lady Griz set season-bests for points scored, points allowed, and scoring margin
ISU 67-73 MSU; A 27-7 first quarter ends up being just enough for the Bobcats to coast

Re: Big Sky Basketball Thread, 2016-17
NoDak blows a chance to clinch by losing to Sac at home. UND & EWU are now tied, though UND has the tiebreaker for the #1-seed.
Montana finally ends the Ogden losing streak. I have no idea what Jeremy Senglin was thinking on Weber's final possession.

Mid-Week-10 Men's Standings
I'll post tonight's score results later, but I can go ahead & update the standings now.
NAU & Portland State have clinched 9th. & 8th., respectively, and will play each other in the first round.
Eastern Washington clinched a bye (if they hadn't already).
Since Weber & MSU play each other, Montana just needs a win over ISU to clinch a first-round bye. The Griz will win any tiebreaker with the teams above them because they were the only team in the top-6 to beat NoDak (common games against EWU wouldn't change anything aside from hurting Idaho).
