Totally off subject, but as a life long A's fan, I need to ask weberwildcat (nice avatar) when the new ballpark in SJ is going to get approval, or are the A's forever doomed to play in the Raider's rat infested crap hole?
lol
mid january is supposed to be bud selig's announcment and it was rumored to be VERY good news. its now jan 25 and no update.

giants are hating big time and trying to block it. they are scared to lose san jose and the south bay. giants had hard times a few yrs back and needed a new stadium. in 1990 A's told the giants they could have territorial rights to the entire bay area except alemeda county where oakland is located. this was so the giants could build in san jose.
giants ended up building in SF in 2000 and left candlestick which is a dive and in a bad location outside of town. now the A's need the favor returned as they can only build in alameda county but the giants refuse.
once the A's get permission by the MLB to build in san jose, the new stadium will be next to the Shark Tank in downtown. it will take 39 months to build and will be called Cisco Field. San jose has already aquired the land and with Cisco they can proceed to build once they are allowed. Unlike the city of Santa Clara, San Jose wont be taking on an 800 million dollar lone which will be the largest in the history of US sports for a city to do. the 49ers hope to start building its new stadium in Santa Clara very soon.
go to google images and type in cisco field. a lot of cool concept pics.
cisco field will be 32,000 and most high tech stadium in the world. also the smallest MLB stadium. the giants are very afraid. they know the A's can start selling out games and make a lot of money especially being in the heart of silicon valley where they will take advantage of corporate sponsorship. A's coudl become a real contender when billy beane has a big pay roll to work with. look what he was doing as an innovater with no cash.

alameda county has just 1.5 million people out of the bay area's 7 million. oakland has 400,000. san jose has 1 million people, largest bay area city, 10th larget US city, 3rd largest Calif city.
soon the giants might be the only pro team between SF and Oakland. The rest will be in San Jose which is in santa clara county. lol
