I don't think that was too bad of a strategy. If he makes it, the Griz cut it to one & put UNM back to the line again where they hadn't been too good. New Mexico wasn't expecting it, but Cherry couldn't finish.Willie wrote:That was a retarded play by the freshman to drive like that. Because UM's senior PG went, like, 1/12 on the game—not to mention UNM's D was likely looking at him first. I thought that they maybe shoulda looked to Staudacher, but Cherry's decision wasn't too bad if he makes it.Give the ball to your senior **** point guard and let him take the shot.

I was pulling for you Griz folks last night - great effort!
I only caught the last few minutes when they cut away from my freakin' Deacons nearly giving Texas a win
Up by 12 at one point, forced to OT, down by 7 with 2:00 remaining, then pull it out of their butts. Kentucky will destroy them.

14 out of 16 for Day 1. Not Bad
My only misses were Texas and Georgetown. Doesn't kill me tho because I still had then losing in the second round.
I'm in the top 2000 on the ESPN tourney challenge.

I think almost everyone missed G'town and at least one other "upset"... I missed Vandy, G'town and Marquette.... That puts me in 150,000th place on ESPN
... and I thought I was doing alright, considering I filled out my bracket hungover on my blackberry in the Milwaukee airport at noon yesterday.

I got the same pick... I hope UK loses, but I don't think they will this early.ASUG8 wrote:....oh, ye of little faith......(I picked them as a homer, but UK will demolish them)89Hen wrote: A guy in my office just told me the EXACT same thing. He said he got G'town and Wake wrong.

Re: 2010 Big Dance Thread
I was glad UT lost. Call me a cynic but they got so arrogant at the start of their season and being ranked #1 after playing a fluff OOC. When they got to conference play they didn't do so hot. Glad Wake Forest won, even if they almost handed the game to Texas.
Yeah, they had a decent, I guess, overall record (24-10) but they were 9-7 in conference (6th place), and didn't win their tourney. Hell, TXST had that same record in the SLC.

What's funny is a LOT of the sports talk chatter on the radio early in the week was about G'town possibly losing first round.JMU DJ wrote:I think almost everyone missed G'town

Worst. 3 seed. Ever.
Seriously, they had 10 losses for a reason, don't know what the hell the committee was thinking

The Big East sucked this year. The love the committee gave them is ridiculous, and my favorite teams to root for are Pitt and Novadbackjon wrote:Because they were from the Big East. Most overrated conference, ever.Silenoz wrote:Worst. 3 seed. Ever.

I know that you are prone to tremendous emotional outbursts and throwing your extreme opinions to the max...but most overrated conference, EVER? Come on, that's just ridiculous.dbackjon wrote:Because they were from the Big East. Most overrated conference, ever.Silenoz wrote:Worst. 3 seed. Ever.

But, but we have been told all year that the Big East is the best conference, ever.
Oh, and still, fuck Nova (and the refs)

I haven't heard anyone say that this year's conference is the best ever. I've heard best conference this year. Yeah, there may be a few blowhards who have said best ever, but they are probably prone to the same emotional outbursts as you.dbackjon wrote:bandl wrote: I know that you are prone to tremendous emotional outbursts and throwing your extreme opinions to the max...but most overrated conference, EVER? Re: 2010 Big Dance Thread
I don't think anyone's said the Big East was the best conference ever this year - heck, almost everyone agrees that the Big East was better last year, and that was before this tournament ever started. And what made it weaker this year, i.e. top heavy and not as much depth, is coming out in the tournament. 'Cuse and West Virginia and maybe even still nova will go deep in the tourney - expect the Louisville's and the Pitt's to probably not make it past the weekend (although both have fighting chances to do so).bandl wrote:I haven't heard anyone say that this year's conference is the best ever. Re: 2010 Big Dance Thread
I've been saying that Cornell was much better than a 12 seed for the last week, but do I pick them in any of my brackets? Nope. Why? I'm an idiot.
