Hornets escape and beat the Vandals on the road. In what should have been an easy win, the Hornets let things get interesting and Idaho can't take advantage.

Holy Sacramento State, come from 20 behind to beat the Griz? Didn't see that coming. Did watch a lot of the 2nd half though, Sacramento State was much more aggressive than Montana at the end and the Hornets hit some huge shots.

Fucking horrible 2nd half by the Griz. They got sloppy and lazy. And honestly, with the way the BSC refs are, the games are almost unwatchable. Absolutely ZERO flow or rhythm, with a foul called about every 15 seconds.Wildcat Ryan wrote:Holy Sacramento State, come from 20 behind to beat the Griz? Didn't see that coming. I agree, the refs have made watching Big Sky games really hard to do, I have watched some "power Conf" games this year and for some reason they are allowed to play a lot more physical, yet in our conference you even look at a guy funny and the refs blow their whistles, gets really old really fast. They also really need to define what an offensive call is and a defensive call is, I hate watching the offensive player initiate all contact and the foul is called on the defender, I also hate watching the offensive player push off to get separation put the refs turn around and blow a foul on a defender who is standing there with his hands in the air. It seems all you need to do in this conference is drive to the basket and the refs are almost 100% sure to call a reactionary foul.
It's like the first time Weber and UNC played in Ogden both teams combined for 68 free throws, 34 apiece. it was one of the most boring games I have ever watched.

I'm pretty sure that's more the rule changes than the Big Sky refs this year. The non-conference season was even worse than conference play on this.AZGrizFan wrote:Fucking horrible 2nd half by the Griz. They got sloppy and lazy. It also doesn't help that the Griz have been—all season—a team that claws & grabs at freakin' everything on defense.

Griz opened the 2nd half by knocking down 2 threes to go up 20...I thought it was over and was about ready to leave, but realized I wasn't sober enough to drive so I stuck around...best...decision...ever...

DeCuire & co. need to figure out how to adjust to the new rules & rule emphases. This is especially true with Breunig, who—despite needing to be on the court at all times—is the worst offender on the team for stupid fouls.

Game over, right? Think again.....OSU inbounds the ball and, inexplicably, the Utah defender attempts to BLOCK the running, out of control shot of the OSU player from HALF COURT....and of course, he fouls him. With 0.2 seconds left. So HE goes to the line for 3 free throws, and sinks all three and OSU wins 65-63. Two HORRIBLE fouls....

One of our staff pastors (a huge OSU fan married to a huge UO fan) was telling us about Tinkle's game at breakfast following our men's group meeting this morning. From what Pastor John says, the OSU foul wasn't even a "touch-foul." Replays from several different angles showed that the Beaver defender made no contact whatsoever, and it wasn't even close.AZGrizFan wrote:If you saw the end of the Oregon State/Utah game last night (pitting the last two Griz coaches against each other, FYISDHornet wrote: His 3rd foul late in the 1st half (and oddly enough his last PF of the game) was just![]()

Hornets came out flat last night and spotted MSU with an early 12 point lead. With Demps out (who suited but didn't play) we just don't have the quality backcourt depth to matchup against smaller lineups.
