OK Weber time to take this 6 game winning streak momentum and KICK SAN JOSE STATE's ARSE  :notworthy:

And congrats to NAU for coming back and beating EWU :notworthy:

Montana could have lost but oh well :coffee:
That must be a "you were hoping for them to lose" deal. Because they crushed ISU.

yes, yes it was.

Its nothing personal, but for Weber to host, UNC and Montana NEED TO LOSE ONE MORE GAME.

Sheesh, was Weber worried that playing well in a non-conference game would somehow destroy their momentum in conference. :?

Let's pray the GRIZ and rest the conference fair much better. I either under estimated SJSU or over estimated Weber State. I liked Weber State in this game A LOT! My bad Weber State, just as I start getting high on a team, they prove me wrong.

CSUN 68-59 EWU; The Matadors shoot over 60% in the second half after shooting under 30% in the first
LMU 75-84 PSU; Vikings regain some life as they easily win the Falling Off a Cliff Bowl
SAC 52-67 SEMO; The anemic Hornets only shoot 35% from the field and 13% from the arc
CSF 79-84 ISU; The Bengals drill 12 treys, nearly triple their season average
NAU 59-56 CP; The efficient Lumberjacks shoot 47% against the defense-only 'Stangs
UMT 56-74 LBSU; The Griz shoot poorly & lose the boards for the sixth consecutive game
ID 65-50 MSU; It's hard to live by the three when you shoot 12%
UNC 82-80 NMSU; The Aggies torched the nets, but Mike Proctor's 8 offensive rebounds evened things up for NoCo

WEB 52-65 EWU; Eagles easily clinch a tournament berth thanks to a 15-0 run to start the game

Side note - "Clinched Home QF" means that team has clinched at least a home QF game. Also keep in mind that the women's tourney has no home QF games.

Tinkle made a HUGE mistake playing without both Selvig AND Qvale for the last 12 minutes of the 1st half. Those two were game changers and sat on their thumbs. Neither one ended up fouling out, and would have been very valuable during that period when LBSU stretched the lead from 4 to 12 to end the half. :tothehand: :tothehand: :tothehand:

Even when they were on the floor, it didn't seem like anyone was willing and/or able to get the ball to them down low, where we had a huge size advantage. Give credit to "The Beach" for playing some pretty smothering D.

They played smothering D on Selvig, but then again he's softer than me. Dude plays like a Euro 7 footer. Qvale had his WAY with the LBSU 'bigs", and scored at will (well, except for free throws).

This team needs a long-range threat besides Selvig.
This team needs to spend a couple practices doing nothing but shooting free throws. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

At one point we were down by 8, there were 2 straight layups by Qvale on which he was fouled (he didn't make the shots), and he missed 3 of the 4 free throws. We got defensive stops on the other end, and the lead could have been 5. Instead, very quickly it was back to 14 and it was never really close after that.

Missed free throws. FREE throws.....they're a morale/momentum killer. :ohno: :ohno:

Any hope the Hornets had a pulling in a long shot at a BSC Tourney berth went out the window. They played a pretty piss poor game in a must win against a road struggling NAU team. :ohno:

PSU's Phil Nelson hits a ridiculous, off-balance, one-handed half-court buzzer-beater against the Griz. Too bad the Viks were down 4 at the time. Griz win 85-84. Montana tied their season-high in points, but also set a new season-high in points allowed.

MSU ends their long losing streak in Cheney, so it would be a real letdown for the Griz to lose @ EWU on Saturday. That's the first Bobcat win since their first meeting with Eastern on January 15th. If UM wins, they will host the tournament.

  • Men

MSU 60-56 EWU; The Eags give up a big second-half run for the third straight game
UMT 85-84 PSU; Will Cherry returns to pre-injury form with 24 points and a career-high 10 assists (1 turnover)
NAU 63-42 SAC; The Hornet offense falls further, shooting just 29% in a game they really needed to win

    Women

ISU 61-66 WEB (OT); The Wildcats end an 8-game losing streak thanks to 8% shooting from ISU in overtime
SAC 64-83 NAU; The 'Jacks win turnovers by 10 in keeping their meager tournament hopes alive
PSU 70-65 UMT; The Viks nearly blow two big leads, but hold on for their fourth straight win over Montana
EWU 56-70 MSU; The Eagles shoot a miserable 28% as they fall to 1-6 against teams likely to make the tourney
