Eastern's likely to play the Bobcats in the quarterfinals, so there's an automatic win right there.kalm wrote:Hunt, Aiken, and Kidd played really well. If we get Davison back for the tournament I can see is winning it.

NoCo beats Montana by 2 in Missoula. The Griz struggled mightily, the bench played like shit. I blame Alpha.

Unusually sloppy ball handling. I didn't think the Griz would have that much trouble with a man team, either.Vidav wrote:NoCo beats Montana by 2 in Missoula. The Griz struggled mightily, the bench played like shit. I blame Alpha.
Oh, and Jordan Davis is a better player than Tyler Hall. The stats alone would tell you that, but Davis also attempts to play defense.

Interesting upset tonight as Sac beats EWU in Cheney. That's EWU's first home loss since December.

So, are we doing the top 8 again for the BSCT, or is everyone in again?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

3/2 Scores
- Men
PSU 66-68 EWU; Both teams hit a trey in the final 10 seconds after neither had hit one in nearly 8 minutes
SAC 90-94 IDA; In the second half, Idaho shot 75% on FGs, 70% on treys, and 95% on free throws
SUU 54-70 UMT; Sayeed Pridgett scores all 20 of his points in the second half
NAU 73-84 MSU; Harald Frey gets 30 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, and 4 steals
ISU 62-71 UNC; The Bears clinch back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time as a DI team*
Women
EWU 57-76 PSU; Eastern's starters only score 22 points
IDA 69-65 SAC; The Vandals survive, mostly thanks to their only committing 9 fouls
UMT 56-71 SUU; Jace Henderson, who was shooting 59% coming in, starts the game 0/10
UNC 75-61 WEB; Savannah Smith cracks 30 points for the 7th. time in NoCo's last 9 games
MSU 72-76 NAU; The 'Jacks pull the upset despite only getting 2 points from their bench
* - Keep in mind most every UNC win (if not every win) from the '10-11 season was vacated due to NCAA sanctions, leaving '09-10 as their only 20-win season prior to last year.

It'll be interesting to see how next year goes and if Orr wants to go in a new direction with MBB after the 20-21 season.
Also heard Bunky has 2 years left on his contract. Given that everyone returns for the Hornets on the women's side, expectations should be significantly higher next year.

OK, if Harkleroad's got 2 years, he should be safe. They aren't as bad as they were last year. It'll be interesting to see if they go back to the full Westhead style next year or if they keep the more moderate approach.SDHornet wrote:Of course Katz' and Co blow a must win road game against the worst team in the BSC.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

If the Hornet men sweep the Montanas at home, they'll clinch a non-losing season. Would Sac really fire a MBB coach after a non-losing season, given their history?

Re: 3/2 Scores
The WBBs issue is lack of depth. We had a couple of injuries that hurt, but the talent level really drops off a cliff when the top guns go out for a breather. I like the pace of play this season rather than the jack up a ton of shots as fast as you can in past years.Mvemjsunpx wrote:OK, if Harkleroad's got 2 years, he should be safe. MBB will be interesting. The output under Katz has been frustrating. In most cases, the Hornets play to their opponents level for better or for worse. For every win over a Weber or UM, there is a loss tosub par/under preforming team (Idaho, ISU, NAU this year). If Katz could just win the games he should win, this team would consistently be around 500 and a middle of the road BSC program, which is more than acceptable IMO given the facilities issue.
More frustrating is constantly seeing a Katz coach team fall behind big early, and failing to hold big leads. That has been a hallmark his entire tenure. I think it really boils down to what Orr wants to do. Personally I can go either way on keeping him or not.

Mvem, was this Rorie's worst game statistically in recent memory? It seemed like he couldn't do anything.
