Santa Clara over NAU. 10 minutes left in the first half. Ugh.

Jacks made a game of it in the end. Cut it to 5 after being down by 16-17.

Thanks to this years seniors. DeAngelo Jones - you have been all heart the last 2 years. A future career as a defensive coach, perhaps? Julian Olubuyi - all heart and no quit as well. Next time a student of mine tells me they can't do something I'll reference you as an undersized but never out-hustled NCAA point guard. Eric Platt - a few more "bangs" in the game tonight was awesome. Hope you enjoyed playing your last few years in Flagstaff. Shane Johannsen - from walking on to being one of the national leaders in shooting percentage. Getting a degree is engineering is tough without having sports practice obligations on top. It's been a pleasure watching Cameron Jones. I'll miss that mid-range jumper of his. Go show those guards in the NBA the lost art of a 10-15 foot jumper. Coach Adras, asst. coaching staff/support and Mitch Strohman/Coach Dave Brown all deserve credit as well.

Now come on WSU, UM and UNC. Give em hell the rest of the way.

The Lumberjacks had a great season, and the seniors on that team are great kids who never quit. NAU fans should be very proud of thier team. Congrats on the great season NAU, see you next year :thumb:

Brian Qvale just set the single-season Big Sky record with 94 blocks.

That's the only thing going well for the Griz, though. They trail Duquesne 40-21 with 4 minutes left in the half. UM looked great the first 5 minutes, then ran out of gas after 2 bad turnovers by Cherry.

Montana found some life at the end of the half. They cut it to 12 before a bad layup followed by a transition layup by The Dukes just before the buzzer. 49-35 Duquesne at the half.

That was the worst D I've seen from the Griz all season.

And no urgency on the Offensive end either...well until the end of the half.

The Griz are running out of guards. Stockton's out. Autry just got poked in the eye & went to the locker room. Adams is in street clothes for some reason.

Griz lose, 87-76, giving up their most points of the season. UM shot 50% and lost, so you can't really blame the offense.

Weber leads Oregon by 2 early second half thanks to 0-11 from the arc by the Ducks.

PSU got stomped by Wyoming in the WNIT, 79-44.

NoCo trails Bakersfield by 1 early second half in the WBI. They're getting hammered on turnovers but dominating the glass.

Weber loses, 68-59, and NoCo's women lose 83-74 despite being tied with about 3 minutes left.

Big Sky 0-5 in the postseason and staring 0-7 squarely in the face. Only monster upsets from the Bears or Lady Griz can avoid that.

Dean Leaving EWU After All

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

After all signs pointed to star Eastern Washington PG Glen Dean staying to play for new coach Jim Hayford, it's now reported he's transferring to Utah to play for former Griz coach Larry Krystkowiak.

http://www.krem.com/sports/Eastern-Wash ... 41469.html

I guess the Eags got a Montana-related double-edged sword. Their women's team will get a transfer from Montana, but their star men's player will leave to play for a guy from Montana.

I figured EWU would be the third-best team in the Big Sky, but I think they now fall into the "let's just make the tournament" pack.
