Weber clinches the #1-seed after Montana chokes against NoCo at home. Weebs trails EWU at the half, though, so it still could be a shared title.

Weber wins the conference outright after Bolomboy hits a game-winning trey with 18 seconds left. It looks like Bolomboy will win MVP outright, as well.

The coaches/voters robbed Breunig of MVP last year, while his team (likely) did it this year. :ohno:

Great come from behind win Weber, Big Sky Champs, tournament should be a good one. There are easily 6 or seven teams that could win it.

There was a stretch where Hayford got a T and then Jois got a T, then an Eagle cheerleader was ejected.

The 5th foul against Jois was brutal. It even fired up normally mellow and unbiased Larry Weir.

Good news is that we either beat or played tight, all the conference front runners.

Bad news is we've lost 4 straight heading into Reno.

I agree that that 5th foul on Jois was bogus, but it's to be expected with the refs in this conference.

That game's officiating was atrocious, but most Big Sky games are

Caught the last 10 minutes of this one. Weir will be fined and/or suspended for a game or two for his anti-BSC ref rant (although extremely accurate). Refs did everything they could to give Weber the game.

With Foolerton leaving, maybe this atrocious reffing issue will finally get addressed by the next guy.

The Vandals win the Battle of Idaho to clinch the #3-seed.

SUU couldn't quite knock off Portland State so they end up last.

I'm skeptical as to how. The Big Sky shares refs with a lot of other western leagues, plus the NCAA & the talking heads seem to want tighter officiating that leans more toward the Big Sky's whistle-happy way of doing things anyway.

I just want consistency. Was at the Sac - NAU game tonight and there was none. Body fouls called on shots in the paint called on the Hornets, not called on NAU. Hand check fouls called on NAU, not called on Sac. :suspicious:

Really? While I agree that Jois 5th was bogus, and the refs in yesterdays game were (to quote Eastern's radio guy) GOD AWFUL, the refs did nothing to make sure Weber won the game, it was the complete different style of play that helped Weber win the game. While Eastern was content to shoot from distance, Weber attacked the inside and got to the free-throw line (which Weber is one of the best in the nation at doing). The two tech fouls must have been warranted, I don't know what Hayford said to get his, but Jois after dunking on Bolomboy yelled in Bolomboy's face, which you can't do. I don't understand the whole cheerleader thing, must have said something about the ref's mother. Weber won the game because they made the plays they needed to, and made their free throws, (FINALLY). Eastern was also playing very aggressive defense, but at times played overly aggressive which led to fouls.

Yes. Those T's were weak (one of which was also a PF on Jois for his 4th). That's 4 gift points for weebs and a foul on their prime big. Huge swing right there.

A dominant 2nd half propelled the Hornets to victory. NAU played tired in the 2nd half. Kaluna (sp?) looked gased 5 minutes in. NAU just didn't have their legs and it showed when they shot from distance.

We needed a win like this heading into the BSCT.

A little surprised at the defense & newcomer choices, but nothing real strange. There are also no shared awards, unlike last year.

It should've gone to Wendy Schuller, IMO.

He would've been my choice, too. Idaho State has (almost certainly) clinched their first winning season in 13 years.

Not really, given his record. I didn't think he would probably get fired, but there was a significant chance. Same goes for Tyler Geving & B.J. Hill, though I don't know when their contracts expire.

UND gets a home game in the CIT, but it's not an easy draw with 25-9 UCI coming in.

Montana, Idaho, and Eastern all get CBI bids, the first CBI bids for the Big Sky in 5 years. The CBI field looks a bit weaker than usual, though. There are no major conference teams and a Seattle U squad with a losing record somehow got a home game. :?
