Went for a jog and all hell broke lose:

4/7/10: Wake Forest Fires Dino Gaudio

Something is odd here. Why now, when so many other moves have happened? Just a theory, but maybe Wake Forest wants Gregg Marshall and fears Clemson getting him? Seems like there must be someone out there that Wake wants and fears will be gone, but I could be wrong.

Any news on who Marshall is hiring? Discussion on the MMB is fierce as it appears Buzz Peterson may be a finalist.
Appalachian State Mountaineers:

National Champions: 2005, 2006, and 2007
Southern Conference Champions: 1986, 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012

Yes, he is along with Tom Herrion. Buzz Peterson might be the worst person in college basketball. The guy interviews EVERY year now. Marshall is crazy to speak with him. If he has success even close to that which Jones did, he'll be gone next year.

I'm not impressed with Rutgers initial list:

Frontrunners: Fran Fraschilla, Jim O'Brien
Next Tier: Dino Gaudio, Jim Baron, Fran Dunphy
NOT currently on the list: Bob Hurley Sr., Mike Rice, Chris Mooney

In my eyes, the best 3 candidates are those 3 NOT on the list and 2 of them would accept (Mooney might not).

Yeah, he's definitely losing support with some of the ASU faithful...and he didn't have a lot to begin with. Should be interesting to see what happens. Thanks.

I'm not impressed either.

I doubt Bob Hurley would be interested, and he is getting on in age. PJ Carlesimo may be interested in returning to the college ranks. I would like that.

I agree on the age issue. But figure you could have Bob Jr. as an assistant (as opposed to joining Wagner staff). And while you'd hate it, Wagner could be a grooming job for Danny Hurley to eventually go to Rutgers.

Let's face it: Hurley is the guy who could keep the top NJ talent in state.
