Western Kentucky marched into the Sommet Center and upsets the Commodores 76 - 69 in the Sun Belt Classic! A.J. Slaughter had a game high 27 pts and scored 18 of them in the 2nd on 10/16 shooting, including 3/6 from 3-pt range!!
WKU goes to (5 - 3) on the season and is on a 3-game winning streak!!! Go Tops!!!!

Congrats on the big win! If only Mendez-Valdez was still around - I'll never forget that guy from the epic Gonzaga/WKU 2nd Round tilt.

I know. 4 years had to end some time.
Just imagine him in the classic WKU/Drake game in the 1st round the previous year, the game wouldn't be near as close as it was.

Side note to the game: WKU's win over Vanderbilt was the first win over them since the early 1940s.

This game was played for the 1st time since 2001! Shame that it has been that long since they played each other. Bunch of scared Commodores, maybe it will be another 10 years before they play again so that WKU can gloat about the win.

True. On a side note, Slaughter is a beast!
