Lafayette visits Lehigh's Stabler Arena Saturday night leading the Patriot League with a 4-0 record. First place will be on the line as the Mountain Hawks come in at 3-1. LC has been a surprise so far, having been picked last in the PL preseason poll. Lehigh was the preseason favorite. Possible sellout crowd could be in attendance (5,600), which hasn't ever happened for basketball. 5,000 showed up about 20+ years ago for a big showdown when Queenan and Polaha starred at Lehigh. (Over 5,800 showed up for Lehigh's wrestling match with Oklahoma state a few years back).

Enjoy the moment. Similar scenario this Sat night in Wmsbg, as ODU calls on W&M. We're hoping for 7,000+, and expect many will be Monarch fans.

At this point, LC isn't sneaking up on anyone. Hopefully our D is set up. We have two very good Freshman who, together are scoring almost 40/game.

L-L go at it in just about everything (except wrestling). If it were tiddlywinks, there'd be blood in the water.

Down 35-30 at the half, Lehigh stormed back to outscore Lafayette 45-22 in the second half to win 75-57. Lehigh's defense stepped it up challenging LC's sharpshooters who had hit a number of '3's' in the first half. Leopards shot only 4/27 in the second half! Lehigh's silky smooth freshman CJ McCollum led all scorers with 23 and co-capt Zahir Carrington poured in 19. Lehigh and Lafayette now tied for first place in the PL at 4-1. Mountain Hawks on the road for the last two games of the first half at Bucknell and Holy Cross.

Great second half effort by Lehigh. This Leopard team is quite young and have perhaps been overachieving a bit this year, but we should continue to improve.
It is really still anybody's to win at this point-- Lehigh is probably overall the best team in the league, but if Lafayette or Army get hot at tourney time thay have the talent to take it all as well.

didn't see or listen to the game, but that is an impressive second half.

Rarely does anyone 'run away' with the PL title. On most nights any team is capable of knocking off another, expecially at home. I agree, that on paper, Lehigh has by a slight edge the best overall team, but there is still inconsistent play, with scoring occuring in spurts. Frosh McCollum is impressive, and if Lehigh can recruit some size to go with him, they could be real force for a couple years.
