The 'Cuse

Wow, other than the 1st 4 minutes they looked simply dominant against a good GTown team last night. They're deeper than years past & have a number of kids that can score, nobody wants to see that zone come March.

I still think they will crash and burn come tourney time.

Probably the best and most complete team coming out of the Big East. They're just as good on the offensive side of the court as they are on the defensive side. Right now, easily the best 'Cuse team since the Carmelo Anthony one that won the National Title a few years ago - and this one plays better defense.

Well Hakim Warrick was just a machine on the defensive end for that NC team, just ask Kansas fans. You can compare Rautins to McNamara, who was a FR on that team, favorably. Wes Johnson is good, but he's no Carmelo.

How in the HELL did G-Town go up 14-0 on that zone?

Kansas demolished Mizzou last night. Would like to see the Jayhawks face the Orangemen.

Why does it seem that everyone in the northeast who isn't affiliated with a major college team roots for either Syracuse or Duke? If every school admitted players who throw toasters at their girlfriends and punch defensless women, they could be good too.

Well it's not like basically the whole team abused free phone cards & landed themselves on NCAA probation right???

I'll admit I love Jay Wright & think he's a great coach & recruiter.

Both of those teams can go straight to hell....so I'm not included in that 'everyone in the northeast' crap

Seriously, for a school that actually landed on probation to question the ethics of other schools, wow, that's just funny stuff right there. Heck, even going back a few decades I seem to recall nova even had a national title game appearance vacated because of wrongdoings by a player. And heck, I rooted for the '85 team as much as anyone, but I seem to recall the point guard playing the semifinal game against Memphis St. with a nose full of cocaine. nova's not exactly been clean as a whistle over the years.

With that said, I don't root hard for either 'Cuse or Duke - I'm a Big 5 guy first and foremost. But I will pull for the Big East (well, not g-town or UConn) if there's no Big 5 team to root for.

I'll call you out on that GF, admit it, you've been a Dukie lover for DECADES, you've always been an apologist for that flop defensive scheme they run. Didn't you have a lifesize Christian Laettner poster in your room??

Makes sense - Duke has always been known as the University of New Jersey-Durham around these parts. ;)

I root for Duke when they play UNC - I can't stand those baby blue uniforms. And yes, I did root for them against that pro team/hot tub clubbing group that was playing in Vegas back in the day when Hurley and company beat them. As it is now, outside of UD and then the Big 5, I find myself rooting for the Zags - always was a big Casey Calvary fan. :thumb:

Screw Syracuse.

I don't root for them in anything.

I don't mind Duke though. My brother is a huge Duke fan. And yes....there are a lot of Jersey kids that go to Duke.

That was an impressive showing in the second half last night. With both Villanova and Cuse playing tough road games this weekend it should be interesting to see how everything pans out.

Another record to be broke in 3.5 weeks, the 'Nova-Cuse game will be the largest ever on-campus crowd to see a NCAA hoops game, almost 35K.

I agree - always thought that was funny, especially with Carrier having a huge plant nearby. But then again, considering the location of Syracuse, it's not hard to see why it would be wasted most of the time.

Huge late game rally on the road at Cincinnati for another W, 10-1 in the league now. With Nova and WVU squaring off tomorrow somoeone has to lose.

Win today was basically w/o Wes Johnson.

Well they hadn't played great for a few games and it came back to bite them against the Ville today. Wes Johnson still isn't right after taking that spill.

Gotta get the house back in order quick, at the Hoyas Thursday.

OK, that was maybe the best hoops game I've seen all year. Cuse dominated the 1st 28 minutes, Rautins was unconscious. The last 12 minutes was all Hoyas and Monroe was single-handedly fouling out the Cuse's bigs. Great regular season game for people that don't put much stock in college basketball's regualr season.

Rautins came through at the very end as well, with clutch free throws. That would have been a choke for the ages: 'Cuse up 23 with 10 minutes left and barely held on.

With 'Nova faltering down the stretch the 'Cuse can basically wrap up the regular season title with wins over Providence and 'Nova this week.
