Tuesday Afternoon:
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- President Barack Obama called Kentucky coach John Calipari to praise the program -- and to caution the top-ranked Wildcats.
The country's No. 1 college basketball fan thanked Calipari and his players Tuesday for helping to raise more than $1 million as part of the "Hoops for Haiti" telethon. Then Obama counseled them to keep their focus and not let their new position atop the polls go to their heads.
Tuesday Night:
South Carolina (11-8) 68
Kentucky (19-0) 62

I'm always very happy when a team coached by John Calipari loses.. I can't wait until the world finally finds out what he's been doing all these years.

Does anybody realize that Devan Downey went 9-27 from the field? It was a great performance, but the four letter word touted him like it was some sort of virtuoso deal.

Further illustrating my point.. That's 31 percent, which would be mediocre even had he shot all threes.

If I was in a game where I took 29 threes

either my arm would fall off or I would lose respect for my coach for not benching me.

What a great win for South Carolina. You know, this is just one of a few upsets occuring wit South Carolina teams. CofC beat UNC a few weeks ago and now this. I heard Obama is supporting the Saints on Sunday. Maybe I should put my money on the Colts.

Barack Obama has no connection whatsoever to Harvard College, the sponsor of the football team. Harvard Law School is an island of elitism on the north end of the university complex. Obama is a Columbia man. Actually, half Columbia and half Occidental College. He's just a "half and half" guy all around.
Anyway, Z, your question presumes that the Ivies would enter the playoffs, so we're safe.

I know.....I know.....I know.....
But I figured Harvard in the playoffs was a hell of a lot more likely in my lifetime than Columbia (or Accidental).

True dat! And ain't it ironic that tax-cutter Jack Kemp played QB for Accidental?

Didn't know there was a curse. What other sporting events has he had something to do with that went bad?
He picked UNC to win the NCAA tournament last year...

I know, but he apparently didn't put a "curse" on them when he picked them.
