At least the Syracuse circle jerk didn't carry over to the polls.

Versus the giantkillers on 'Nova's schedule???Fact wrote:I think most Nova fans are sensitive about cuse this year.. They beat a couple of good teams and a couple of overrated teams and suddenly they're the hottest team in the country.
I agree with BHBK here - looking at the schedules, nova and Syracuse have had pretty much similar schedules in terms of strength so far, so calling one team's schedule weak and ignoring the other one is pretty myopic. Both will have a lot to prove down the stretch, although I think 'cuse gets the break with a slightly easier schedule the rest of the way.bluehenbillk wrote:Versus the giantkillers on 'Nova's schedule???Fact wrote:I think most Nova fans are sensitive about cuse this year.. Cuse is #3 in AP & #4 in USA Today/ESPN.
Either way the game on the 27th should be a great one.

Well, he did say that 'Cuse shouldn't be ranked ahead of nova (and he didn't seem to be advocating they should be tied) and then used what he considered to be a weak Syracuse schedule to justify that position. That's not reading between the lines then, that's actually reading the lines.wideright82 wrote:GannonFan wrote:

You delaware fans love reading between lines, huh? Where did he mention nova's schedule? All he is saying is their schedule doesn't warrant the praise OVER nova. He never said theirs fails in comparison to ours
Would nova pass your smell test then? And why wouldn't 'Cuse's win against Memphis not be their best OOC win? Or West Virginia, in West Virginia, be their best in conference win?Fact wrote:For the record, I said that Syracuse beat a few good teams and a few overrated teams.. I never accused them of having a vintage Boeheim cupcake out of conference schedule in fact it's pretty good. They were really propped up early by beating UNC (which is an average win at best at this point.) I would have to say that their best OOC win at this point of the season is Cornell. Their best in conference win is at home against Georgetown, which happens to be Villanova's best in conference win as well. To me, Syracuse just doesn't pass the smell test.
Actually, the vast majority of nova fans think the same way with regards to the basketball and FCS football programs. The guys on here are probably the only ones who don't think that way.OSBF wrote:I wish you 'Nova and G'town guys would go to redbirdfan.com and tell them how bad FCS football is for your basketball program. Seriously, they think that's the case.

FCS football is not the problem at all. The problem that the NCAA has on its hands is more that it is becoming Aristocratic and the only teams with a chance in hell in basketball are are the teams that are in the major conferences or have a big name coach who everyone knows is cheating (see: UMass 1988-1996, Memphis 2000-2009.) Without exposure, the blue chip recruits aren't going to go to an Illinois State or a Richmond or even Temple. Those schools have to rely on diamonds in the rough or JuCo players, but you're never going to find a team from a Mid Major conference with more than High School All-American (unless you have a greasy coach.) As a college basketball fan; I think the most unfortunate consequence of the BCS has been the disparity between teams from the Major Conferences and teams from Mid Major conferences.OSBF wrote:you've got a freakin national championshipGannonFan wrote:

they can cry me a freakin' river
so, would your basketball program be better if you played football in the MAC, sunbelt, or CUSA?GannonFan wrote:Actually, the vast majority of nova fans think the same way with regards to the basketball and FCS football programs. Hey, to each their own then, man. If you want to pretend to not understand the context, by all means, go for it.wideright82 wrote:GannonFan wrote:

Funny that's not what he said at all. Good try though GF.
