Interesting Convo

I love it when our athletic dept has beer left over they don't know what to do with twords the end of basketball season. Last night they opened up the donor room at the women's game, only happens during the last couple of home games at the end of the season if they have a couple of extra kegs.

Small intimate gathering, something like 50 people. The associate AD sat down at our table, and we had a great discussion for 5-10 min.

This thing with SLU joining the MVC is more than just talk, likely to come to a vote of current conf members sooner rather than later. He doesn't understand their wanting to leave the A10, but, hey, whatever floats their boat. If that happens, would begin search quickly for a 12th team. E'ville or INS not going anywhere anytime soon.

IF SLU gets in, the tournament would be leaving St Lou, Chicago a likely replacement, the week before the B10 show. KC possibility but the infrastructure to match St Lou just isn't there.

Real strong possibility this BCS split of the basketball tourney will happen. The big boys are getting tired of sharing TV tournament $$$ with the smaller conferences. Look for something in the next 5 years or so in the form of a resolution.

I agree with that. Bob Huggins didn't come up with that idea himself. It was obvious that there are some kind of discussions going on.

Wasn't I called out by DJH for saying SLU was a real possibility to replace E'ville?

I don't know if that was brought up in your convo, but our associate AD is leaving after this year and has spilled some beans in conversations that hint towards it happening sooner rather than later

Um, you were talking about the MVC kicking E'ville to the curb.

SLU or not, Evansville isn't going anywhere.
