I'm not sure how many teams here are FCS, but one definitely WAS until abandoning football recently. I don't like the way the bracket is organized because they don't follow the normal convention of placing the home team on the bottom when there are no assigned seeds. Anyways, the first round and quarterfinals will be at home sites. I think the semis and the championship best-of-three series will be co-located somewhere, but they could be at home sites as well.

Indiana State @ StL (Hosting Quarters)

Tonight's CBI results:

WI-GB 70, Akron 67.

Coll. of Charleston 82, EKU 79.

Boston U 96, Oregon State 78.

Morehead State 74, Colorado State 60.

IUPUI 74, Hofstra 60.

Princeton 65, Duquesne 51.

I blew EVERYTHING in the CBI except for StL yesterday and Princeton today. That's in contrast to my having almost everything right in the CIT. Wow.

Quarterfinal matchups for 22 MAR:

WI-GB (22-12) @ StL (21-11)

Coll of Charleston (22-11) @ VA Commonwealth (23-9)

Morehead State (24-10) @ Boston U (20-15)

Princeton (21-8) @ IUPUI (25-10)

Interesting sidenote in the two "upsets": if the CBI website is correct, OSU was in this tournament with a losing record. Could have been a simple transposition. But if that's the case, outside of an auto-bid, what the cr@p are they doing in a post-season tournament? CSU and Duquesne finish at .500, also making one wonder why they got a berth. Of course, I heard rumors that the CBI was having problems getting schools to sign up. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Oregon State is the defending champion. The tournament is set up that the defending champ gets a bid, no matter the record.

Ah. Not sure if that rule is warranted, but if that's the way it goes, so be it.

They kitty-cornered the bracket for the semis. Did NOT expect that.

Great showing from Sanders and Joey. Joey's oop to Rozzell was #8 on ESPN's Sports Centers Top 10 Plays last night.

Does anyone like this championship series concept? For me, it only works when the games are at home sites, as in the case of the CBI.

In general, I like it. Not likely to work for conference tournaments because of the time crunch. But for the other post-season tournaments, it's a nice thing.

Brandon Rozzell scored a game high 27 points for the Rams in a 71-65 victory over St. Louis for the 2010 CBI Championship.

The Rams, who struggled in regular season road games, were forced to win one of two in St. Louis to lock up the crown after defeating the Billikens in the first of a best of three series this Monday in Richmond.
