December 22-24, 2010 in Cancun, Mexico for a 3-day basketball tournament. It's App St Texas St, a couple of programs that quit at football recently and some of the "big boys".

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi and Southern Miss will be among the eight teams competing in the inaugural Cancun Governor's Cup men's college basketball tournament scheduled for Dec. 22-24 in Mexico.

Other teams competing are Appalachian State, Colorado State, East Tennessee State, Northeastern, St. Louis and Texas State.

The new tournament will feature 12 games over three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format.

The two teams that remain undefeated will face off in a championship game.

Cancun!! Should be fun.

This will be a great opportunity for App. Hopefully we can make a run in Cancun and get some resume wins.

Socon tourney is heading back to Asheville Civic Center for 2012-2014 where it should be.

Also, App State/North Carolina is scheduled to open up the 2011/2012 season in the Asheville Civic Center for the grand re-opening of the building.
