Sac schedule released

Highlight of the schedule is a HOME game vs. George Washington, a top-tier mid-major. Of course, that's more than counterbalanced by the presence of two wanna-bes on the schedule. Utah Valley State is a glorified juco, and SUU has no place on ANYONE's schedule. We would have done better with Grambling or Southern.

Kudos for getting GW to come to our JHS-level gym. But even in a rebuilding mode, we could certainly have done better than those bogus Utah schools. If it has to be Utah, there are four schools that would have been better options than those two, including an officially non-conference extra game with Weber. That sort of quirky scheduling has been done before in other places, and would have been a good option here.

Oh, come on. Stop complaining.

Sac's MBB team is gonna be terrible this year, so the more winnable games, the better.

Horrible? No. Great? No.

While the talent is not there (yet) for the Hornets to do mighty things, Brian Katz is too good a coach to allow for a "horrible" season. I'm looking more at "mediocre," which translates to about 9-11 wins.

We're probably still out of the conference tournament, but we're not "horrible" anymore, either.

Katz may improve them over time, but what do they have this year other than a bunch of unproven JuCos? Vinnie McGhee, the Hornets only good player from last year, bolted when Jenkins was fired. Anything other than dead last in the Big Sky would be a surprise for Sac this season.
