Is it a "big" win to take out a Big East school that only a few short years ago was knocked out of the first round of the NCAAs by a Big West school? A friend of mine made this assertion on FB yesterday....

Are you talking about Notre Dame beating Pitt? If so, yes that was a HUGE win for the Irish. Pitt has been damn near unbeatable at home & now the Irish have a big road win for their resume. Plus Pacific beat Pitt in '05? WTF does that have to do with anything now?

My friend posted on Facebook that the Packers beating the Bears in the NFC championship was a big deal. I told him "come on", in 1929 the Bears lost to a team called the Buffalo Bison.
