Fredette - As good as the hype?

I haven't had a chance to see BYU play this year - is this Jimmer Fredette guy as good as advertised? He got plenty of props from impressive places after putting up 43 on SDSU last night (Kevin Durant called him the best scorer in the world last night). Who's seen him?

He's the real deal, a hell of a scorer. That was his third 40 point game this year. I can't wait to see him in the tourney.

Not many get too, the MWC tv deal is horrible. Even living in Utah it is hard for me to watch one of their games. Living around here, you get to see some of the highlights and he has really good range on his shots and doesn't seem to get to excited about himself.

true - pick BYU in your brackets that's for sure - he's the kind of player who can carry a team for several rounds until one of the true big boys puts a huge ass double team on him - they seem like an elite 8 team right now.

if BYU, TCU and Utah weren't bailing on the conference... I would say the MWC is becoming a powerhouse in both hoops and football and needs to be recognized with a big-ass tv deal...

I see that the BYU/New Mexico game is on Versus this weekend - I'll definitely either watch it or TiVo it. Any guy with the name of Jimmer who can ball is a must see.

He's not the ball handler, Pistol Pete was. To me he's a Lindsey Hunter type, if you saw him play in college he could score from anywhere.

Awesome player. Will be a lottery pick for sure now. He can get his own shot and is unreal strong. Finishes real well in traffic, and a pretty good passer. Reminds me more of Billups with better range than anyone else.

Actually, the guy he reminds me of is Stephen Curry. I think Jimmer's more physical, but not quite the ballhandler Curry was.

Weird comparison, and Curry was not a superb ball handler. He looked worse his final year when he was moved to point.

Jason Richards contributions were under appreciated. Steph was a great college player, but he missed having Jason run the point.

He is the real deal. I watching him completely take over the Aztec-BYU game this past Wednesday.

I've Personally seen him lead BYU in a victory over Weber State at the Dee Events Center, he is VERY GOOD. Strangely enough he only scored 28 against the Wildcats in a 6 point win.
