That's the best recruiting pitch I've ever seen

Given Fisher's assessment of the team, I suspect that this may not have the affect everyone seems to expect. With this guy, they were apparently a run-and-gun type team, and one of the best around. The expectation is that they will go small without him, so one could expect more of the same. A big inside presence would be nice even with this attack, but many teams are going 3- and 4-guards on a routine basis, so this could enhance their already-existing game. From the article's description of him, it sounds like he was functioning as a point forward, something many offenses don't have. They can probably revert to the more traditional point guard and not miss a beat.

As for what he did that would cause this to happen at this late date, well, it could be anything. It could be one of those one-time red-flag deals as some of you have suggested. It could also be an on-going thing that is only coming to school attention now. The thing is that one could be suspended or dismissed from the team but be retained in school for any number of things. A violation of a school-wide honor code, though, usually means expulsion, so we should be on the lookout for that.

If he's the only minority on the team, though, they might want to be careful about having the proper documentation to support expulsion, though. Whether it's warranted or not, we could be looking at a lawsuit if the school's not careful.

i really can't fathom why a black person would go to BYU given Mormon thoughts on the entire race...

Brandon Davies was dismissed from BYU's basketball team after he admitted to having sexual relations with his girlfriend, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday.

BYU's honor code forbids students from having premarital sex and instructs them to "live a chaste and virtuous life."

but why in the hell would you choose to go to BYU unless you were into the whole Mormon thing?

if i were a coach recruiting against BYU for some kids... I'd be emailing them this story as soon as i could.

BYU doesn't look like they even belong in the tournament tonight... granted it's one game and they just lost a key component of their team yesterday - doubtless they are distracted... but NM put a hurting on them earlier in the year with a full squad... if all it takes to beat BYU now is to go to the low post until they commit too many down low and then work it back outside... the first Big East team they play is going to HOUSE them.

When I used to see a girl from Liberty, her roommate was cool with me staying overnight. One night we were up talking late and a girl from the hall heard us and woke up the RA to notify her. Anyways, I was escorted off campus by security and my friend AND her roommate both got like 15 "reprimands" and a $50 fine (which I paid).
