Rutgers gets royally screwed

after a brilliant comeback by Rutgers - a throw in with 5 seconds left, the rutgers player is fouled - no call - the ball is turned over, and a St. John's player runs out of bounds and flings the ball in to the stands with 1.7 seconds left... the clock keeps running and the buzzer sounds... the refs then walk off the court to the locker room...

the horrible officiating at the end of this game is... bizzare.

Yeah, the end of that game was absolutely brutal, if I were a Rutgers fan I would be livid.

Yahoo!'s reporting that the league has fessed up to the mistakes, but like a wrestling match that turns on an illegal move while the ref's back is turned, they won't do anything about it.

:ohno:

Trish Stratus is back. This time, she's training the next group of people coming up. She's joined as a trainer by Booker T. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will host. If you haven't seen Trish and her Diva shoots, you're missing out....

Rutgers vs St Johns at the Garden in the Big East playoffs, the Scarlet Knights will always get screwed. That's just the way it is. The refs should be reprimanded.

the refs have "voluntarily" opted to withdraw themselves from the rest of the tournament...

these guys were some very experienced officials... looks like they just f'd up.

Even if they "didn't see" the guy step out, they should have saw the guy travel before he tossed the ball.

I'm glad they won't be wearing stripes anymore this weekend in NYC. If the refs themselves did volunteer I'll give them credit for that. However, the BEC could have voluntereed them as well to avoid any ugliness from the crowd. Having gone to the BEC tourney about 4 separate years I can tell you it's one fun, intense environment. If you're a college hoops fan, hard to beat today & tomorrow in NYC with the quarters & semis.
