I dont know, #77 out of over 300 sure aint bad :thumb: Especially when its the top 74 power conference teams and Weber is 3rd after them.

And being ranked higher than certain other Big Name programs.

Maryland, Tulsa, Minnesota, Stanford, Georgia, Rutgers, Richmond, Utah State, Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington State, Iowa, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Florida, LSU, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Auburn, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Penn State, Boston College and Utah.

Not bad for a small little mid major out of Ogden Utah

I think Weber can be better than 77, but the team has to prove it.

No ODU yet...I dont think they'd be ranked this high so they must not even be in this websites top 100 or whatever it is. :ohno:

UNI was 75, I'd think ODU is coming up...I'd hate to think they weren't in it at all.

Shit, UNI will likely be playing 3 true freshman this year. Only 1 senior on the team.

I'll be surprised, Clemson is the last team at 62 I can't see them being higher than 62. IMO, thats pretty much saying they'll be right on the bubble this year for NCAA's. I dont see us being good enough this year to be a bubble team, we'll have to win the CAA for the third straight year. I could see Mason and VCU being this high on the other hand.

I would love to see the ODU/UNI game in person, but it isn't looking good at this point.

UNI's line up is looking like

Starters: (mpg)
G: Johnny Moran 6'1 (28-32) Sr
G: Anthony James 6'1 (28-32) Jr
G: Marc Sonnen 6'3 (25-28) Jr
F: Jake Koch 6'8 (25-28) Jr
C: Austin Pehl 6'10 (12-15) Jr

Bench:
F: Chip Rank 6'6 (18-22) So
F: Seth Tuttle 6'8 (15-18) Fr
F: Marvin Singleton 6'6 (15-18) Fr
F: Nate Buss 6'8 (12-15) rFr
G: Deon Mitchell 6'1 (12-15) Fr

That likely won't be completely accurate, but probably close.

ODU has some big question marks this year with the departure of Darius James, Ben Finney, Keyon Carter, and Frank Hassell. We only return two starters and thats last year's defensive player of the year Kent Bazemore who is actually coming off leg or foot surgery and then Chris Cooper who has also had problems in the past with health in particular a meniscus if I remember correctly.

Projected Starting 5 could look like...

Trian Illiadis Guard 6-3 SR
Marquel De Lancey Guard 6-0 SR
Kent Bazemore G/F 6-5 RS SR
Chris Cooper Forward 6-9 SR
Nayquann Mitchell Forward 6-7.5 JR

We also have Clemson Transfer Donte Hill but he has to sit out until December because of transfer rules so once he's allowed back I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over for De Lancey.

Top 4 guys coming off the bench for the season opener IMO are in no particular order....

Dimitri Batten Guard 6-3 RS FR
Anton Larsen C/F 7-0 RS SO
Richard Ross Forward 6-7 RS FR
Nick Wright Forward 6-8 RS JR

...pretty young bench this year if you ask me.

weber state is gonna be really good in 2012 and 2013.

we have a 1st rd draft prospect at our point, and our shooting guard was the #1 3point % in the country last yr. as long as our bigs are decent we could have our best yr since 2003 which nearly ended the season in the top 25.

i think we will have 3 big sky first teamers and 1 all-american.

I honestly have no idea right now. It looks like Bazemore will miss the first couple games of the season which obviously includes the UNI game and then there are some rumors that there are some problems going on with Wright and Ross right now so we could be very thin when the season starts. In regards to the CAA, I think we'll be top half but then again thats not saying much. This could be the first year we don't finish in the top 4 of the conference. I think the teams to beat right now in the CAA are Drexel and Mason.

So....you should be Elite 8 with that talent right?

Sounds a lot like UNI at this point. We have depth that it sounds like ODU does not have, but we are really young, and I expect us to be a mid-pack type MVC team this year with potential to finish higher. Should be a good game.

no, our 2003 team lost in the first rd as a 12 seed but was undefeated in big sky. i think we can replicate that season and get more than 21 wins which we haven't done since '03.

3 first team all conference and an all-american and you can't win one NCAA game?

Is the Big Sky that bad that 3 of the 5 best players in the conference are on one team (including an ALL AMERICAN, ONE OF THE BEST 10-15 IN THE COUNTRY AND A FIRST ROUND PICK) can't win ONE NCAA game?

No, this team has talent to go deep into the tournament, but the team has to prove it first.

I believe this team can be better than the 2003 team (no diss to Boyette and co). I think this team can be special. :notworthy:

I have no clue Clenz. They gotta get to the dance first.

In our last 4 appearances we have got past the first round twice. We gotta get back though. It has been since 2007 now.

It's been since 2011 for ODU. :D Except we got the misfortune or the same kind of screw over that TCU and Boise State got in the Fiesta Bowl a couple years ago when we were paired up with Butler. :ohno:  A lot of people, even including some on some pretty big television shows such as Around the Horn picked ODU to go pretty far in the tournament. The pressure is really on ODU now to eventually make some kind of noise in the NCAA tournament since the other 2 CAA Flagships now have Final Four Appearances.
