Hey, I understand some people like basketball. While I find it peculiar, I won't hold it against them.Wildcat Ryan wrote:93henfan wrote:And nobody really cares, because it's basketball after all.

Try as I might, I have never been able to get into the sport. The year the Sixers went to the Finals last, the very first NBA game I watched that year was Game 1 of the Finals. I haven't watched an NBA game since. It was so boring I should have just watched the last two minutes, as that's the only part of a basketball game that is remotely entertaining to me.
Wow. A really tall guy can run by another really tall guy and stuff a ball down a ten feet high hoop. It doesn't get any better than that! Yippee!!!
You still kick ass in women's bowling and equestrian.DSUrocks07 wrote: As much as you "suck" at basketball, you still beat us last year.
so I assume football is really the only sport that you're a fan of then.93henfan wrote:Hey, I understand some people like basketball. While I find it peculiar, I won't hold it against them.Wildcat Ryan wrote:

Golf. Duh.89Hen wrote:Are there any other sports where the point is to put the object into a goal, but you aren't allowed to goaltend?
That would make it more interesting to watch.93henfan wrote:Golf. Duh.89Hen wrote:Are there any other sports where the point is to put the object into a goal, but you aren't allowed to goaltend?
I don't know anything about polo (the kind w/ horses), but maybe that?89Hen wrote:That would make it more interesting to watch.93henfan wrote:

Are there any other sports with a defense where the point is to put the object into a goal, but you aren't allowed to goaltend?
Dunno. While there might not be a "goaltender", I'm guessing a defending player can defend the goal if he wanted.93henfan wrote:I don't know anything about polo (the kind w/ horses), but maybe that?
Hockey I can see, but baseball?93henfan wrote:College and pro football, pro baseball, pro hockey from April to June, female Scandinavian curlingODUalum11 wrote:

I don't know if they can make rules to do it, but somehow they need to encourage pitchers to pitch the damn ball. There are some fantastic pitchers out there that don't screw around. Stephen Strasburg certainly falls into that category. I'm hoping more young pitchers take note.ODUalum11 wrote:I really wish they could somehow speed up the game of baseball.
Once the American League gets involved, you're screwed. More nut-scratching, spitting, readjusting sweatbands, and phantom hack bullshit routines in that League than should be allowed. Perhaps the ump should have one of those chess timers and a team gets, say, 5 minutes of scratch your nuts time for a whole ballgame. One dude takes 20 seconds, that's 20 seconds less of nut-scratching for the rest of the team that game.89Hen wrote:I don't know if they can make rules to do it, but somehow they need to encourage pitchers to pitch the damn ball. For the people who like basketball, I hope they do.bluehenbillk wrote:Hey 93 - I think you might be surprised this season. Granted Monte Ross may not be able to coach his way out of a paper bag, but UD should have a winning record this winter.
Well I know in College the pitchers have a certain amount of time from when they get the ball until they actually throw it.89Hen wrote:I don't know if they can make rules to do it, but somehow they need to encourage pitchers to pitch the damn ball. That very same argument can be put into football93henfan wrote:

Wow, we must've met somewhere then. When I went to UD one of my roomies was a wrestler along with one of my better friends. I went to a bunch of their home meets (just to see them wrestle then leave) and the average attendance at those things floated between 50 and say 60.BlueHen86 wrote:I care very little about UD hoops. I used to go to, I knew a couple of guys on the team back in the early 80's. The attendance did suck. My older son is a junior in high school right now and he's a pretty good wrestler, he will probably wrestle in college, which means that UD isn't an option.bluehenbillk wrote:Wow, we must've met somewhere then.
