JMU basketball arena?

Does anyone have any additional info. on whether JMU is ACTUALLY going to build a new basketball stadium? I know the funding was "approved". But does anyone know if there are any actually plans yet?

man, not talking smack but thats what JMU needs desperately....a new basketball arena. The existing convocation is just an ugly place.
However, if it were my guess its not gonna happen for a while since JMU is doing renovations of their football stadium. I assume it will come sometime after all the renovations are done with Bridgeforth.

What's wrong with that arena, that place looks like it could have a great atmosphere.

Oh, I thought you were talking about Sac State's arena, not ODU's. As for ODU's arena...absolutely nothing. I wish you could come out to virginia for a VCU-ODU basketball game....it has to be the Duke-UNC rivalry of mid-major basketball it is that intense. There isn't a bad seat in the whole entire place and I've been in the suites and the club level and I have to say or ask, can anybody find me a better mid-major basketball arena?

I would say USU's Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, but according to the WAC, the WAC isnt a "mid major conference" Despite being 3-6 vs the Big Sky this season.
I would love to travel he country and watch some hoops, I LOVE college hoops (most Weber fans do) I have been to only a couple road arenas, USU's Spectrum, Utah's Huntsman Center, and Idaho State's Reed Gym

Delaware State and Drexel have probably been the smallest I've been to see.

Our home Kimbel Arena
Second smallest in Division I basketball
Really good atmosphere, we beat LSU in there 2 weeks ago
