UC Davis just grabbed a Notre Dame washout by the name of Joe Harden. He's expected to help them contend in this, their first official year in D-I and the Big West. Davis fits his criteria of being close to home (about 45 minutes from his Acampo house) but not too close (read: UOP).
Harden seems to be expected to be a really good mid-major guy who just couldn't crack a BCS-level lineup.

Duh. UOP fans were practically salivating at the prospect of getting Harden's rental services ever since it was even rumored that he was departing the Golden Dome. We're still a tad miffed that he wanted to be "close" but not "too close" to home.
Oh, well. You can't win 'em all. Word is that UOP is going to start looking at Europe again.

This is the problem with people who accept the "mid'major" mentality. Getting excited over castoffs will never get you very far.
