This has never happened for the Big Sky men, but this exact situation happened on the women's side just 3 years ago. Montana & Portland State were both 14-1 (UM lost to PSU in Portland, PSU lost to MSU at home in their next game) and the Lady Griz beat the Viks at home in the finale to clinch. No-one else finished better than 8-8.
