FCS in the CBI 2012

Post by bonarae »

Hmm, CBI doesn't have an official website of its own... but it's usually the dumping ground of the NIT snubs.

Princeton vs. Evansville
Western Illinois vs. Oregon State
NDSU vs. Wyoming
Delaware vs. Butler
Penn vs. Quinnipiac
Wofford vs. Pitt

(The CBI only has 16 teams at present.)
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Life of ANY athletic program.

Butler was very young and unpolished this year, but they still won 20 games. That is considered to be a terrible year. For how many programs is a 20-win season an unobtainable dream?

They will be back in the Big Dance next year.

(I'm listening to the Butler vs. Delaware game as I type this. Butler is playing walk-ons at the 14-minute mark of the first half.)

UPDATE: Butler wins 75-58

Delaware has a good, young team. Sadler and Threatt are especially impressive as underclassmen. The Blue Hens should make some noise next season.

I have to give props to Butler walk-on freshman, Alex Barlow. He played more minutes in this one game than he played during the entire season, and he sank his first free throws of the season.

GO DAWGS!

Pitt won the CBI over Wazzu 2 games to 1 in the best-of-three final, two straight at home. The scores went 67-66 (at) Wazzu, 57-53 and (tonight) 71-65 (at) Pitt.

That leaves three hoops tournaments left to be decided: boys NCAAs, girls NCAAs, and WNIT.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
