A New D-I Record...

...for futility.
Northern Illinois scored a whopping FOUR first-half points en route to a 42-25 loss to Eastern Michigan today. The Huskies set dubious shot-clock era records for shooting futility in a half (3.2%) and in a game (13.1%). They also tied the mark for fewest made baskets in a half (1), and that was a fast break layup in the first minute. NIU followed that up with 29 straight misses. NIU posted the PREVIOUS record with five first-half points in a blowout loss to Dayton back in December.
Sure, they're youth-heavy (they're pretty much a frosh/soph team), but does a team like that really belong in D-I?
