Why not the Zags has two 7ft'ers on its roster.rkwittem wrote:eagleskins wrote:Gonzaga could easily win the entire thing. Best center in college basketball and a top 10 PG. Deep, veteran lineup.![]()
Did Illinois blow them out?dbackjon wrote:Both have already lost to Illinois
No, and their only other loss was by an ot buzzer beater at #10 Butler. The Zags also pulled an SHSU with the Big 12 beating OSU, Oklahoma, Baylor, and KSU. This is a very good basketball team with a shot to win it all.dal4018 wrote:Did Illinois blow them out?dbackjon wrote:Both have already lost to Illinois
That is why I say these two teams could make history two mid majors battling for it all in April. All the powerhouses aren't playing well this year so why not???And the winner could have a player that might gain the attention of the NBA!!!kalm wrote:No, and their only other loss was by an ot buzzer beater at #10 Butler. Just shaking my head at the "best center in college basketball" and "top 10 PG" rhetoric. And Gonzaga is riding their own coattails. I can't remember them doing anything in a tournament of substance. Win a game or two then fold against a top seed, perhaps. Butler is THE top mid-major right now. They have sizzle and substance. Gonzaga is all sizzle and no steak.dal4018 wrote:Why not the Zags has two 7ft'ers on its roster.rkwittem wrote:

Hey but Butler isn't ranked 5th nationally that honor belongs to Gonzaga.Would like to see both of those 7ft'ers play together.rkwittem wrote:Just shaking my head at the "best center in college basketball" and "top 10 PG" rhetoric. Yeah, and Butler beat Gonzaga. And they've won more tournament games in the last 5 years than the Zags have. Butler is the better program right now.dal4018 wrote:Hey but Butler isn't ranked 5th nationally that honor belongs to Gonzaga.Would like to see both of those 7ft'ers play together.rkwittem wrote:

Well again I would like to see these two schools meet in April for all the marbles.rkwittem wrote:Yeah, and Butler beat Gonzaga. Yeah, Well Butler lost to LaSalle, Charlotte, and St. Louis.rkwittem wrote:Yeah, and Butler beat Gonzaga. And they've won more tournament games in the last 5 years than the Zags have. And those 3 teams are all firmly on the bubble. They don't suck. Do some homework first. The argument is Butler v. Gonzaga...and Butler beat Gonzaga. They play in a harder conference and are demonstrably better than Gonzaga despite their being ranked lower.Grizalltheway wrote:Yeah, Well Butler lost to LaSalle, Charlotte, and St. Louis.rkwittem wrote: Yeah, and Butler beat Gonzaga. They're 1 pt better at home on a desperation shot.rkwittem wrote:And those 3 teams are all firmly on the bubble. They don't suck. Do some homework first. The argument is Butler v. All I read was "Butler won." That's enough for me.kalm wrote:They're 1 pt better at home on a desperation shot.rkwittem wrote: And those 3 teams are all firmly on the bubble. They don't suck. I have the utmost respect for Gonzaga, and would love to see a Gonzaga - Butler NCAA Championship game.
However, I must add...
When Butler beat Gonzaga, they did it WITHOUT their top player, Rotnei Clarke.
Just sayin'
close to it. Beat them by 11 AT Gonzaga.dal4018 wrote:Did Illinois blow them out?dbackjon wrote:Both have already lost to Illinois
Paul was just insane in that game against Gonzaga - dude just couldn't miss. If he's on like that for an extended time Illinois will be a tough out in the tourney. With that said, when he goes cold the Illini go cold.dbackjon wrote:close to it. Beat them by 11 AT Gonzaga.dal4018 wrote:Did Illinois blow them out?
Beat Butler by 17.
They were Butler before Butler came onto the scene.GannonFan wrote:Paul was just insane in that game against Gonzaga - dude just couldn't miss. If he's on like that for an extended time Illinois will be a tough out in the tourney. With that said, when he goes cold the Illini go cold.dbackjon wrote:

This is the best Zags team in years, IMO. Most teams are going to have a hard time handling that size. Could be the Zags first Final Four ever too.
