Re: 2013 CIT Bracket
UNI and WSU both got screwed out of the NIT.
I see no way, with the lack of a true bracket in this one, that there should be a reason that WSU/UNI should be matched up before the title

SSU boned themselves with all the missed free throws, going 6-14 with quite a few on the front end of "1-and-1s". ECU whittled away a 10 point deficit to come back to win.

Well Weber State is up 28 at the half on Cal Poly.
EDIT 50-18 Weber. Making Cal Poly look really bad.

If AFA is able to get past Weber, they will most likely play at UNI next, but there is a very good possibility that Weber and UNI could meet in the next round, and most likely in Cedar Falls

Re: 2013 CIT Bracket
UNI will host throughout, that I can promise you. It was announced before the second half was half over that UNI would be hosting Saturday if we held on to win.Wildcat Ryan wrote:clenz wrote: Wow...they didn't get out of playing a decent team this time.

The remaining field has 3 MVC schools left.
Tulane (20-14) @ Bradley (17-16) 8p
UIC (18-15) @ UNI (19-14) 8p
Eastern Kentucky (25-9) @ Evansville (19-14) (@ S. Indiana Univ) 1:30p
Canisius (19-13) @ Youngstown St (18-15) 7p
Rider (19-14) @ East Carolina (19-12) 5p
Air Force (18-13) @ Weber St (27-6) 9p
Kent State (21-13) @ Loyola MD (22-11) 3p
UC Irvine (21-15) @ Oral Roberts (19-14) TBA
Pretty much all Eastern schools. I would bet that if UC-Irvine wins the winner of the Weber State/Air Force win you two will be matched up. I see UNI getting one of our conference mates if both/either were to win.

I wouldnt be suprised to see Oral Roberts again if they beat Irvine, this time hopefully in the Dee (even though we already beat them in Oklahoma, I'd like to watch a few more home games)

Re: 2013 CIT Bracket
Come to find out today that it was basically admitted that UNI will host 5 games if we get to the point of playing 5 games....simple math tells you 32 teams, to get to the championship would be game 5 and we were told that we will avoid Evansville and Bradley (conference mates) until the semis or finals.
I don't see anyone taking a home game away from UNI. UNI had the second largest home crowd in the tournament last night (behind only Hawaii) in a game that was moved to a new night, during spring break week when there are essentially zero students on campus....and it was by far the smallest crowd of the year for a UNI game.
The low cost of hosting a game is easily overcome by what we will draw, even though it will be low compared to our regular season.

Hopefully Weber can at least keep hosting before they take on UNI, it's funny the matchup I have wanted in football forever, is likely to happen in basketball.

If you can afford the bids (it's pretty damn cheap) and you will draw better than your potential match up you'll host.Wildcat Ryan wrote:clenz wrote:Come to find out today that it was basically admitted that UNI will host 5 games if we get to the point of playing 5 games....simple math tells you 32 teams, to get to the championship would be game 5 and we were told that we will avoid Evansville and Bradley (conference mates) until the semis or finals.

I'm also willing to bet UNI is willing to pay a little extra to ensure a host.
I'd love to see a UNI/Weber State football and basketball match up. I wish our UNC home and home was with Weber State. It'd give me an excuse to head out that way to see my companies new store out there and see a game
