Catholic 7 Expand

Post by SuperHornet »

The new Big East, consisting of the Catholic 7, is reportedly accepting Butler, Creighton, and Xavier.

Wow!

The no-name league consists of USF, UCONN, Cincinnati, Temple, Memphis State, UCF, SMU, and Houston. East Carolina and Tulane join next summer, and Navy (I'll believe that when I see it) in 2015. They're trying to get a 12th football member so they can have a title game by '15.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Cinci is gone to the ACC or B12 first chance they get.

If the B10 does grab Georgia Tech and UNC, like seems to be a hot rumor, then the ACC will grab Cinci and USF. If that doesn't happen watch for the B12 to grab Cinci and one other school to get back to 12.

At some point WVU is going to split as well from the B12. They likely realize the mistake that they made by going there

Please God no! WVU already realized they made a huge mistake going to the Big 12 with no travel partners.

I'd imagine the ACC would go after UConn before USF.

I would certainly hope so, other than the Tampa market (which is full of Seminoles anyway) USF brings nothing to the table. Hell the league has already had the basketball tourney and football championship game here.

Trickle down is next....

George Mason and Davidson to the A10?

What would that do to the CAA and Socon?

Didn't George Mason turn down the A10 already? And that was when Butler and Xavier were still in it. Does the A10 only get more attractive to George Mason the weaker it gets?

I thought George Mason "turned down" the A10 after the A10 told them it wasn't going to happen this year.
