Longwood to Name Jayson Gee of CSU as basketball HC

Sources have confirmed that Longwood will hire current Cleveland State associate head coach Jayson Gee as the Lancers new head man. Gee wrapped up his interview on campus Friday and was back on campus Monday for contract negotiations.
Gee is 47 years old graduating from the University of Charleston in 1988. He was named one of the Top 10 assistants in the country by Bleacher Report recently, and CollegeBasketballInsider.com ranked him as a Top 5 mid-major assistant in the country. He has spent time at Youngstown State,Ohio, and Saint Bonaventure. He took over his alma mater’s program in 1996 and amassed 160-55 record over seven seasons, posting six 20-win campaigns and receiving four NCAA berths. Gee’s Charleston squad actually faced Longwood twice between 2000-2002 and the series was split 1-1.
