Blackjack!
Towson beats JMU last night to raise their record to 21-9. If we can beat W&M and CoC can beat Delaware, Tigers win the CAA regular season!
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Who'da thunk UD and TU would be battling it out for the CAA title?
Re: Blackjack!
Agreed. Especially since the College of Charleston has normally been such a dominate team.89Hen wrote:Who'da thunk UD and TU would be battling it out for the CAA title?

Sarcasm? I mean, CofC had our number most of the time, but Davidson dominated/dominates the SoCon.Ibanez wrote:Agreed. Especially since the College of Charleston has normally been such a dominate team.89Hen wrote:Who'da thunk UD and TU would be battling it out for the CAA title?

cofc has been on a downward arc since Kresse left. Cremins ushered them back to mediocrity

Re: Blackjack!
While Charleston Basketball has been no Davidson, they were a top team of the Southern Conference over the past bunch of years including 2nd place last year.
Even as bad as they are this year, only 4 of the 11 Southern Conference teams have a better RPI than they do.

That's not an accomplishment, the SoCon is a terrible basketball league.tribe_pride wrote:While Charleston Basketball has been no Davidson, they were a top team of the Southern Conference over the past bunch of years including 2nd place last year.

There are 32 D1 conferences....
The SoCon is 30th in RPI...a head of only the SWAC and MEAC....
I guess you could say they are 30th of 33 because of the independents - but only NJIT is indy and they are a head of 4 SoCon teams and right on the ass of a 5th....
The SoCon would be HELPED by adding NJIT....yeah...think about that for a second...
Davidson has the best SOS out of all the SoCon teams at an amazing 202....they went 3-10 OOC and 15-1 in conference........
That's...just...wow....
Maybe I give the SoCon, Big Sky, etc... more credit than they deserve for being D1 because UNI is in the same subdivision as them for football for athletic departments because they are really bad as a whole at basketball.

If your RPI isn't better than ALL of the SoCon's teams then you should consider dropping basketball.tribe_pride wrote:While Charleston Basketball has been no Davidson, they were a top team of the Southern Conference over the past bunch of years including 2nd place last year.

cofc had a good program during the Kresse years but that was a long time ago.

So glad App is leaving the SoCon, not that we helped it in basketball, but in general. Glad to be moving on.
