Iowa State beats Kansas in the Big 12 tournament.

Anytime Kansas and Bill Self lose it is a good thing.

And memo to Brent Dumbassburger - Iowa State is in Ames, not Des Moines. :dunce:

CBS should be slapped for showing that kid a number of times. Once I get it - but they were being jackasses for showing it more than once. He is a kid.

My 12 year old cried after the loss to Towson. I told him it was ok and to go sit in the truck until he was done. I think he was just as upset about missing out on a plane trip to Frisco and Texas BBQ as he was about his Eagles losing. Either way I was kind of proud of the lad. Crying over sporting events...a first world problem.

After the '64 Phillies choked, I went to a neighbor's tree house and cried for an hour. I was 10. No shame at that. :(

Now when my teams choke, I just get angry! :pissed:  :tantrum:

At least you told him to go sit in the truck. Not sitting in public blubbering like a baby.

And take the kid to Texas for some BBQ! Go see AZGF while you're there. :D

It is a game. He needs to learn that early on. It is not life or death if EWU wins or loses. I can't help but feel bad, and make fun of, guys that go ballistic when their team wins/loses.

SUU wins...Cool. Go have a beer and celebrate
SUU loses...Meh. It happens. Go have a beer and watch another game or congratulate the opposing team's fans.

maybe he had money riding on the game.
(which, admitedly, anyone who bets money they can't afford to lose on sporting events deserves to suffer anyway)

While I don't condone going ballistic in either direction after the game, I don't see a problem with caring about "your" team. I see a lot of people who are not passionate about anything. Not sure what the point of breathing is if you are not passionate about anything. I know people who are passionate about activism. They know I am not, but I respect them for having a passion for something. When they ask if I want to join the "Clean Up" or some other bullshit, I look at them with my best "Are you fucking serious?" look and politely ask them where I can make a donation because.......(a) my kids are playing in a game, (b) there is a good game on TV that I want to see, or (c) I have things to do that are more important to me. Sports is my passion, after the important stuff like God, family, money, etc. I might be a little too passionate though. I was pissed after Old Dominion lost two extra inning baseball games this week that I listened to on the radio.

Oh. OK. So you can go into a rage because your team won/lost....but otherwise it isn't ok? Your logic is the best. When I see guys on NFL sunday's wearing a jersey of their team and see how insane they get when their team scores/gets a TO/whatever...and yet, the rage is almost the same when their team fucks up. I laugh the whole time. Those people are not someone I would like to associate with.

You are kind of missing my point. I never said passion is a bad thing...being a fanboi and raging win or lose, or even a missed pass/tackle etc..., is what I was talking about. And, yes, crying after your team lost..really? Guess I am an asshole.
