How many heads will explode on the East Coast?

Will Dick Vitale and Billy Packer go up in flames?

This could be fun :)

It could happen...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Big Ten gets 8 bids while the Big East gets 7 and ACC gets 6.

I love Vitale and can't stand Packer. Both are ACC homers, the difference (at least to me) is this:
Vitale loves every college basketball team he just loves the ACC more than the rest.
Packer seems to look down on teams from the "lesser" conferences.

I don't see the Big-10 getting more than the Big East.

Will depend on the tournaments. Big East has seven likely locks, with Providence being the 8th. But with a RPI of 70, they will need to go deep in the tournament.

Big Ten has five likely locks, and two others (MI and MN) that are probably in. Penn State has a higher RPI than Providence right now.

I really could care less. However, it would be blasphemous for the big 10 to get more, I don't care what your little RPI says. I say the RPI is bogus.

So you do care?

I know what you mean though regarding the RPI.

While the ACC and Big East are clearly better at the top, it is not out of the question for the Big 10 to get more teams in the tourney, especially if the 6th, 7th and 8th teams all gets wins in the Big 10 tourney and 6th, 7th and 8th teams in the Big East and ACC flop in their respective tourneys.

If it was up to Billy Pecker, only big east and acc teams would be allowed in the tourney :o

Right now I think the Big East has 6 locks - UConn, Pitt, Louisville, Marquette, Villanova, Syracuse
West Virginia is probably also in, a win today would make them a lock if they aren't already one.

Providence probably has to win today, a loss puts them firmly on the bubble.

In 2006, the Missouri Valley had 4 teams receive bids - the same number as the ACC, Big 12 and Pac 10. Was the Valley as good top to bottom as the ACC? No but the 4th best team in the Valley was better than the 5th best team in the ACC (which I believe was Maryland and Gary Williams threw a temper tantrum).

I think Providence needs at least two more wins...
