No, there isn't. There're already about 50 bazillion conferences playing their tournaments there, so there's no room left.
Moving to a neutral site is all about the teams that never win the conference complaining about having to pay to go. In a mid-major league, the regular-season champ should get the advantage of hosting. Plus, all the neutral sites currently in the running suck.
What sucks about them? Compared to what?
It's places like Reno, Billings, Ogden, Spokane…
Not exactly destination cities (or second-tier destination city in the case of Reno), especially in the winter months. How would it look for this conference if all these other western conferences (including the WAC—who's worse than the Big Sky—and the Big West—who is generally about the same) are playing in ritzy Vegas while the Big Sky is playing in Reno?
To me, the way the BSC is currently doing things is more or less the best way to do it for a one-bid league (I don't like the new 8-team format with no byes, but that's it). The champ gets a big advantage, but enough teams make the tourney that the last few weeks of the season still matter for most every team. I know the last-second costs aren't ideal for many schools, but that isn't enough reason to change the thing into a poorly contructed crapshoot in a less-than-enticing (or perhaps unfair) location.
