Notre Dame loss to Kentucky

The Notre Dame guy was fouled just before his last shot. To me it was pretty clear. He was heading out of bounds because he was bumped that way. And it was a pretty hard bump.

JFC, JSO. I watched in real time, but there's a chance some didn't. Use some sense with your titles FFS. :dunce:

There was no foul on that play. Like the previous 2 possessions, Notre Dame tried a step back 3 pointer and all 3 missed. He was off balance because when he stepped back, he saw 3 guys around him and he had to lean back further to shoot over them and his momentum drove him back.

Right now I can't find the video angle from close up that I saw last night but if and when I do I'll post it. The guy running with him definitely hit him with his leg and changed his direction. The only question is if someone thinks the contact should've been called. But there was contact.

You are going to have to advance to the right spot as this is the whole game. They show replays right after the initial cheering happened with a closeup from the endline. - http://www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live/game/501" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If anything, the ND guy extended his arm and as he was stepping back. I wouldn't have called a foul on either guy but if there was an initiation of contact, it was by the ND guy.

By the way, Cal was a jackass in that initial interview basically giving ND very little credit for making it a good game. Towns was much better.

CBS wants a Kentucky-Duke final. Fuck that. I want Wisconsin-MSU! :thumb:

I could see that. Gonzaga has turned into a hated rival for UOP (somehow along the lines of UC Santa Barbara without the Tortilla Incident), and one of my dorm friends from UOP has a thing for Coach K. Not really a fan of either, though I DO have Dook making the final against Kentucky....

This! Plus my wife is in a thing at work where they draw teams rather than fill out a bracket. She has both Wisconsin and MSU so if they both get in she wins both the 1st and 2nd place money! :thumb:

I was hoping for a ND win. UK gets away with a lot of crap in every game. Towns should have fouled out in their first game of the tournament. I have never seen a player drop a shoulder and drive into a defender like he does.....UK is a special team but I hope they and their classless coach go down hard.

The photo below shows the contact. No doubt about it at all. His left leg is pushing the underside of the the ball handler's leg and the contact nudged the ball handler to the side.

The problem with a still photo is you don't see what leads to it. If you watch the video I posted earlier, you'll see that the ND guy moved into the Kentucky guy and then backed up so he would have space on his step back 3. The ND guy initiated the contact by moving into the Kentucky player. It was not the Kentucky player who moved his left leg under the ND guys leg.

Everyone thinks Reggie Miller initiated this move but it was done in the 60s by Dick Barnett ex Tenn St Tiger and ex NY Knick.

FWIW, I was rooting for ND and I don't think it was a foul. That said, I have no idea what IS a foul in basketball. Possibly the worst sport of the big sports. Too many time outs, too many fouls allowed, too many not called, etc...

Given what the officials let go on all game, it would be hard to see why they would call this. I have no love for either of these teams, but would have liked to have seen ND pull the upset, they just came up short. End of story.

I was pulling for Mike Brey, not UD, and roger on everything else you said about basketball.

I'm pulling for Wisconsin at this point, because they play more honkys than any team since the 60s Celtics. :notworthy:

Sweet JESUS, it makes the last 5 minutes of a basketball game completely unwatchable. :ohno: :ohno:
