Doesn't really need it's own thread, but I was flipping through the channels last night or the night before and saw Southeastern Louisiana playing at McNeese.... there honestly couldn't have been more than 50 fans there. I'm not exaggerating. WTF?

Looking at the stats… Southland basketball makes Big Sky basketball look wildly popular by comparison. Only one team averages 2000+ per game (SFA) and a whopping 7 out of 13 teams average less than 1000. Only 2 Big Sky teams average less than 1000, and those are the two that play in high-school-size gyms (Sac & PSU). In fact, the average attendance for Southland men's basketball isn't much better than Big Sky women's basketball (1263 per game versus 927).

McNeese's men average 370 a game. That's so pathetic it's hard not to feel sorry for them.
The Portland State women are the only Big Sky team that averages less than that (either gender).

Well if you ask JSO, I'm sure it's because there's so much to do in Lake Charles and the fishing is so good.
