DeCuire, Ethridge Win COTY Honors

Travis DeCuire was certainly deserving, but I wonder if Jeff Linder was even more deserving since he won 20+ games with a team under severe NCAA sanctions.

Kamie Ethridge winning COTY was pretty much a no-brainer on the women's side.

Weber's men have declined their CBI/CIT invites.

I'll put up the Big Sky postseason thread after all the women's selections are done (hopefully Monday night).

EWU will play in the CBI against Utah Valley. They're the only Big Sky team in that tourney.

Portland State & Northern Colorado are both in the CIT with first-round byes.

It looks like Idaho's season is over—I believe I read that they were undecided on accepting a bid.

NoCo's women get a #10-seed, the highest the Big Sky's received since Montana was a #9 in 1997. They will also play Michigan.

Idaho got the league's auto-bid to the WNIT and will face UC Davis in Davis Thursday. No Big Sky teams got at-larges this time. Weber will play @ Texas Southern in the WBI. Idaho State, EWU, and PSU all ended up with nothing. I know ISU turned down a WBI bid—don't know about the other two.

After a 29-92 record in 4 years—plus the fact his predecessor shared the league title the year before his hiring—this was expected. I wouldn't anticipate any other firings on the women's side, but you never know.

In most places I am of the opinion that coaches for the women’s team role is to have a decent team and don’t do anything negative that will get you on Sports Center.

The Bears have replaced Kamie Ethridge with UCLA assistant Jennifer Roulier-Huth. Roulier-Huth played for Colorado around the turn of the millennium.

That looks to be it for coaching changes since there haven't been any departures at all on the men's side.

I don't know anymore than what's being posted on eGriz & elsewhere. I'm guessing the Nora Klick & Hailey Nicholson departures are related to friction with the coaching staff (perhaps with teammates, too), but I doubt the Caitlin Lonergan & Sierra Anderson departures are—Lonergan said she doesn't plan to play any sport for any school again. I'll also note that Klick & Nicholson weren't present in any of the postseason awards/banquet photos, while Anderson & Lonergan were.

I do wonder how much of this negative rumor-mongering is legit, and how much is coming from people (family?) associated with disgruntled, departing players. I also find it odd that several message-board posters are claiming coach mistreatment (or whatever), but not a single person has posted any specifics.

She's leaving to take over at Binghamton. Kind of an odd move, although she is originally from upstate New York.
