Aren't the Griz the last Big Sky team that win a first round game?

I believe so. In 2006 the Griz beat Nevada.

True, but they are still the only Big Sky team to make it to elite 8.

Weber knocks someone off every now and again. I think Montana beat Nevada once.

In that case I challenge them to make the tournament now and see if they make the elite 8.

I mean if we are talking about ancient history the Griz went to the Sweet Sixteen in 1975.

Montana State is probably the only Big Sky team with a Basketball National Championship...1928-29. Cats are credited with inventing the "Fast Break"...

Aside from Montana, Suutah is the only other Big Sky men's team that will play in the postseason. They host Drake in the CIT Friday. Weber & NoCo both chose not to participate (NoCo won the CIT last year).

PSU's women got a #15-seed and will play at Oregon Friday. Idaho, Idaho State, and NoCo will be in the WNIT, but they all have to go on the road in the first round. Montana State did not get a WBI bid, so they're done.

Good news. Montana put up more points on Michigan than Florida did.

Cat Thompson was a legend back then, even had a line of scorebooks.

UM at least showed a pulse. It would be nice for a BSC team to get a decent seed once in awhile,

They barely lost that game to UCLA. John Wooden said Eric Hays had the greatest game any opponent ever had against UCLA.

I figured this would come a week ago, but still… not surprising.

This had to happen, hopefully they can get a young up and comer. The talent is there for a quick turn around next year. The players liked Evans, but felt they underachieved this season.

Yeah. I like Evans, but this was a contract year and the Bengals had to do better. I'm not confident ISU will do any better with his replacement, though, given their history over the past 30 years.

At least Evans deserved to be fired this time. He was fired from Southern Utah after posting a winning season in 2007. That is still SUU's last winning season to date.

ISU has a new AD and a new president, so hopefully the change in leadership can turn this around, beginning with a good hire.
