I think Michigan St. is too low. Don't they have most of their players returning? Villanova might be low too, but what do I know about college basketball, I went to Delaware.

Florida #9? they haven't made the dance in two years with Calathes (who may be leaving) if the Gates are in FSU should be in too.

Don't be shocked to see UNI sneak into that 25 or 24 spot next year if injuries don't plague the team.

And rightly so ( at least from what I know which is more about FCS football than DI basketball).

Villanova doesn't lose much from a team that could have won the CAA last year. Way to early and way to much to consider but seems to me that Villanova should be on the list of possible pre-season FCS #1s.

Yeah, I agree, I would prefer to not be number 1 though because then you have every one gunning for you. Happened in 04 to us, but I think this years team will be able to put their money where their mouth is. With the run our bball team made this year, I expect we (VU football) will get a good amount of press this year.

Not credible at this point. The late signing period hasn't even started yet. :geek:

And you don't which underclassmen are going pro yet. Cole Aldrich goes pro and Kansas isn't #1.

Top teams next year that have FCS football:

#1 Villanova
#2 Georgetown
#3 Weber State

Weber's gonna be legit, gonna sweep Montana for the 3rd year in a row! More importantly Portland State is goin down!

UNI was way good did they lose a lot of players for next year?

UNI loses one...count them ONE player from this years team.

That player was Travis Brown. He was the 7th man out of a 9 man rotation but he did play a vital leadership role this year. We should have finished with about 30 wins, but to start the season we moved Travis Brown to the bench (started 54 games his first three years), and started an all new backcourt....non of whom played D1 ball last year (1 true frosh, one JUCO transfer, one coming off of multiple surgeries.) It took the team 12.5 games to gel together and figure each other out. That period should not be there next year

Add into that mix the #1 player in Minnesota from this past year, Marc Sonnen and a top 5 player from Iowa in Matt Morrison, as true freshman, along with three players that were 2 or 3 star players coming out of HS that redshirted last year. One of those three is our PF younger brother, who is said to have much more talent at his than his brother had (who has started/played a lot in every game since stepping on campus, was 2nd in voting for Conference Player of the year and was first team AC last year), one was a finalist (and a home town CF kid) for Mr. Baksetball his SR year of HS, and the other is a kid from St. Louis that was one of the highest rated kids coming out of Missouri in Anthony James.

Baring any injuries or unforeseen incidents UNI should win the leagues regular season and conference title again next year, with a better record than this past season.

Maybe WSU and UNI should play! I know our women's team played at your school last season or was it 2007? Our men's coach is from IA and went to Buena Vista U.

Have your AD call our AD. I think we might be looking for a game yet. Our OOC schedule next year is crazy.

Nov. 13 or 14 -- TBA McLeod Center
Nov. 16 or 17: TBA McLeod Center
Nov. 20-23: Paradise Jam in Virgin Islands
Nov. 28: Home game TBA

Dec. 2: at Iowa State Ames, IA
Dec. 8: Iowa McLeod Center
Dec. 13: at Denver Denver, CO
Dec. 19: at North Dakota Grand Forks, ND
Dec. 23: Wyoming McLeod Center
Feb. 20: BracketBusters VII McLeod Center

The problem right now is that UNI and Siena can't find a date that works for both teams since both of them have a large part of their schedule done. Both schools may need to shift some things around to make it work. There has been some discussion of moving the Denver game (currently Dec. 13) to one of those first two open dates in November and putting Siena in Dec. 12 or 13.

I know UNI isn't thrilled about the possibility of playing 3 games in the Jam, come home for Thanksgiving and then play Siena that weekend, followed by Iowa State and Iowa. That would be a brutal stretch. Eventually, I think the Siena game will fall real early (like one of the first two games) or in that Dec. 12/13 spot.

The Paradise Jam is going to be great for this team. The teams there (and their RPI mid March)

1. Tennessee 24
2. Purdue 32
3. Boston College 55
4. UNI 57
5. St. Joe's 102
6. DePaul 204
7. East Carolina 222
8. S. Dakota St. 284

Right after that came out UNI moved .0002 a head of BC, and it is seeded by RPI. So we could get another shot at Purdue... :thumb:
