89Henette's Mount St Mary's punched their ticket last night with a nice win over Bryant. Sixth trip to the dance for them.

NDSU gets shocked by Oral Roberts in the Summit.

Gonzaga also shocked the world and snagged the WCC bid.

Liberty - Atlantic Sun
Winthrop - Big South
Drexel - CAA
Cleveland State - Horizon
Loyola Chicago - MVC
Mount St Mary's - NEC
Morehead State - OVC
UNC Greensboro - SoCon
Oral Roberts - Summit
Appalachian State - Sun Belt
Gonzaga - WCC

Shaping up to be a fun tournament - Gonzaga versus all those good teams from the Big 10 and the Big 12 - Gonzaga still looks like the best team, but those other two conferences are just loaded with good teams. Actually, those two conference tournaments are worth watching this week.

If App can get by Howard, I pity Gonzaga in the next game!

So the NCAAT and NIT brackets are out, with the NIT podding 16 teams in Fort Worth. Are any of the other usual secondary tournaments going this year?

OK. Looked it up. CIT cancelled for the second year in a row due to COVID. CBI has a cray-cray lineup. It's a real quick tournament, with games 22-24 MAR. They don't really say, but it looks like a bubble tournament in Daytona Beach this year. It would have to be given the quick tournaround. To be televised on ESPNU.

MON 22 MAR

Stetson vs. Bowling Green 11:30 AM ET
Coastal Carolina vs. Bryant 2:30 PM ET
Longwood vs. Pepperdine 5:30 PM ET
Belarmine vs. Army 8:30 PM ET

TUE 23 MAR

Stetson/BG winner vs. CCU/Bryant winner 5:30 PM ET
Longwood/Pepperdine winner vs. Belarmine/Army winner 8 PM ET

WED 24 MAR

Finals

Not surprised to see a lot of "upsets" this year given the lack of complete schedules played by almost every team across America. Should make it a fun tourney to watch.

Strange year. Portland State gave Oregon State quite a tussle early on, finally losing by 5 points. Yet this whole year we never played the Big Sky representative, EWU. Very odd. :suspicious:

Sister Jean is back, and Loyola-Chicago has Illinois in trouble.

That nun is making these tournaments a regular habit. ;)

Maryland as a 10 over UConn has to be one of the least "upsets" ever. Terps aren't necessarily a top 25 team because of some of their losses, but have to be a top 25 in terms of wins.

Texas losing on FTs to ACU last night was quite entertaining.

And how about Oral Roberts advancing as a 15 seed.

Loyola dominated. I don't think Illinois got closer than 8 in the 2nd half.

Fun team to watch. The human garbage can, big, was everywhere in that game.

Shaka Smart is a clown of a coach. Texas AD is a moron for falling for him.

6 years at Texas.
Big-12 record 54-56
NCAA record 0-3

Cowards in the Big 10 won't schedule tough non conference games and every year in the tournament their weakness shows.

Michigan State: Kentucky, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Georgia, UCLA, Duke
Ohio State: Cincinnati, Villanova, UNC, Kentucky, West Virginia

Am I the only one tired of hearing the women's coaches complain about the NCAA not treating the women as equals? I will start listening to them when they put 70,000 fans in the seats for the Final Four and 600,000+ for the tourney and 23,000,000 people watching on TV. :coffee:

Or we could just provide them some weights.

Problem solver!

It's not just the coaches complaining. Some of the players have been posting photos/video of their workout spaces (probably what kalm was referring to) in comparison to what's been provided to the male players, and it's not even close. The NCAA whined about "no room," but what was shown was a line of dumbbells and a wide room on the other side. Stupid. If you have enough $$ to stage a national tournament (albeit mostly relegated to ESPN/ESPN2), you have enough $$ to give them equal facilities....
