According to this editorial, while it was presented to the public as a desire to return to her home state, apparently (like the Southern football coach who left for Norfolk State) this has been in the works for years, as Kim Mulkey has clashed with the Baylor administration over the Art Briles situation, the failure of the administration to produce an on-campus arena (which should have been named in her honor), and the shift in priority of women's hoops (a three-time national champion and annual contender in her era) to third-tier status after the incapacitated football and men's hoops teams started getting good.

Mulkey didn't have clashes about shit related to the rape issues - other than her defending the rape culture at Baylor and telling people they should punch and kick people critical of the school in the face.

Hell, she claimed the rape culture at Baylor was no worse than any other campus in America


She told reporters, and American's in general, that what had happened is done so they should just move on and deal with it.
