Re: 2023 NCAA Tournament
Creighton has all week to get ready for them. I think Arizona just played a bad game and Princeton was hot, and I'm sure Arizona didn't spend a lot of time prepping for them. Even more so for Missouri - if they did any real advance scouting for the second round it was for Arizona. I'm pulling for Princeton, but I'm not sure the magic from the first weekend carries over to the Sweet 16 round. Hope it does.

We will see both teams are evenly matched when it comes to size Creighton has a 7ft'er Princeton has a 6-11 guy!!!!!GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 1:18 pmCreighton has all week to get ready for them.

Re: 2023 NCAA Tournament
Great two games last night - first Mich St/K-State, and then the UCLA/Gonzaga game. I watched parts of the FAU game and credit to them for playing as well as they do (teams that win that many games just think they're going to win all the time) but that game felt dead compared to the Zags game. But then again, I can't imagine there being that many FAU fans in attendance.
Only thing that really annoyed me was the refs at the end of the UCLA/Gonzaga game. The number of times they went to the monitor in the last two minutes was ridiculous, and worse was the amount of time they took to do this. The game, which moved pretty well up to then, just ground to a halt. I get it that you need to be right on the time left and on the possessions, but there wasn't anything controversial like that through the end of that game to warrant so many checks and the time spent doing those checks. I certainly get it that college basketball games slow down tremendously in the last two minutes anyway, but last night felt like an anomaly even in that regard. Hopefully those guys don't grade out to continue on.

Holy Cr@p! I think we could be looking at the first Elite Eight EVER in the 64+ team Tournament history with EVERY SINGLE #1 gone!

EDIT: If Xavier wins, you can make that every single 1 AND 2 gone. The three best seeds left would be Gonzaga, Xavier, and KS State at #3....

Re: 2023 NCAA Tournament
Holy Cr@p! UCONN just DESTROYED the Zags in the second half. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. I got back from dinner with about 7 or 8 minutes left, and it looked like Gonzaga was literally ice cold. Being affiliated with another WCC team for hoops, while I feel like they deserve it, I still find it hard to believe they got beat down THAT hard....

All I know is that if the FAU vs SDSU had Big Sky refs, everyone would have fouled out by now. The Big Sky refs made so many games unwatchable by calling multitudes of phantom fouls. It's nice to see refs that let the teams play.

Re: 2023 NCAA D-I Men's Basketball Tournament
The refs stole this one. No doubt about it. They made it clear that they were going to FORCE San Diego State to win when they called a bogus shooting foul on FL Atlantic; the defender got all ball, and didn't even contact skin until after the hand came off the ball. That's a clean block all the way. And the shooter should have been called for hanging on the rim. Disgusting officiating this year....SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 4:39 pm All I know is that if the FAU vs SDSU had Big Sky refs, everyone would have fouled out by now.
