The City of Winnipeg has the longest Stanley Cup drought. Last won in 1902.

Minneapolis hasn't won a NBA title since 1954

That was amateur hockey before the NHL was around. And the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last won the Grey Cup in 1990 having won 10 between 1935 and 1990.

Los Angeles Angels were missed.
You are correct. One for the Angels.

1989 they returned to the NBA after 29 years away.
Wasn't there a gap between North Stars and Wild?

Edit: looked it up - yep, no hockey in Minneapolis from 94-99. Wild started in 2000

In looking up the North Stars, I got a nice read about the California (Oakland) Golden Seals of the NHL who later became the NHL's Cleveland Barons for two seasons in the late 70s before folding.

Also, best hockey experience by far was watching the San Diego Gulls of the WHL when I was stationed at Pendleton. Frequently saw bikini tops on chicks in the stands. :notworthy: And they had cheerleader in the stands too, and they were as hot as the Chargers cheerleaders. It was hard to focus on the game.

Who watches the NBA these days? :suspicious:

Seriously, the game stinks...soccer is a better sport to watch, and that isn't saying much.

Truth. My NBA watching this year consisted of watching the last five minutes of game 7 last night which I DVRed Sunday. In that five minutes there was one shot made from the field (a three by Cleveland) and one free throw (of two) barely made by James. The rest was a bunch of very badly missed shots, especially by Curry. It's not a skilled game. It's a bunch of freakishly large negros and eastern euros running over each other. How you could follow that is beyond me.

Exactly what the NBA wanted and helped make happen. I'm smelling bonuses in the NBA front office! :thumb:

Oh, and thumbs up for tanking. Remember, the Cavs only won 17 games in a tanking effort prior to the 2003 draft in the hopes of having the best shot to pick LeBron. Tanking does work. :thumb:

...........and the Chicago White Sox original home was Sioux City, Iowa, (Cornhuskers), bought by Comiskey in 1894 and moved to St Paul, MN, (Saints), then to Chicago in 1900.

Thanks for proving my point...we are, as a nation, getting dumber every day.
