If the replacement refs continue to allow the Rams play rule free defense, they'll be a tough team to beat. I've never seen such a large collection of assholes on one team.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Merrill Reese (Eagles play-by-play) was discussing the crew doing the Eagles-Ravens game toward the end of the game, during a long break to review an obvious Mike Vick incompletion that was initially ruled a fumble and would have ended the game for the Eagles.
Reese (paraphrasing): "Roger Goodell, please get back to the negotiating table with the hold-out referees. What we've seen today cannot continue. This crew is obviously inexperienced. The umpire came from Division III college football and the head linesman came from the Lingerie Football League, or so it seems."

So we had to leave home for 89Jr's hockey practice early in the fourth quarter. So we're on the Ravens radio coverage and with the Eagles receiving the ball with 5ish minutes to go and down by 6, he anxiously asked me what I thought would happen. My reply... the Eagles will drive down the field and Vick will either throw a pick in the endzone or fumble inside the 5. Since we couldn't see the live action, imagine my horror at being dead on.93henfan wrote:an obvious Mike Vick incompletion that was initially ruled a fumble and would have ended the game for the Eagles.

Well, this is season five for Flacco and I think he finally gets it done in 2012. Hell, I think he'll be Super Bowl MVP!
