Ryder Cup

Post by Gil Dobie »

Them Euro's are loose and playing up the crowd. Heckler is offered $100 to make a putt Rory just missed. Heckler said, I could make that put.

Sounds like the practice rounds have been a big party. Beer is served starting at 9am.

Traffic report this morning. If you are heading to the Ryder Cup, you are going to be late.

In singles, 3 1/2 - 3 1/2 with 5 to go to give US a 13 -10 lead. US leading in 3 of the 5 remaining with the other 2 being all square. US should win easy.

The mickelson-Garcia match was even better IMHO.

It was better golf, for sure, but not as exciting. Garcia was way more subdued than normal and Phil is a walking Ken doll.

Not when Reed/McIlroy combined for -9 in a 4 hole stretch. Their fire and respect towards each as well made it all that much better.

It was better golf, but Reed McIlroy was better drama.

Speaking of a walking Ken doll, Dustin Johnson is fucking boring.

I like DJ but he doesn't seem very bright. Seems like a less excitable Ricky Bobby.

His lack of emotion hurts the sport.

Did you catch the Arby's commercials during the Cup?

There are several of them. Didn't think they were all that good though.

No, but for some reason I was surprised at the "RC would be better with beef" one. I get that they just like him because they're paying him, but I'm not sure I heard anyone saying he should have actually been a captains pick. Hell, he even said he wouldn't pick himself.

Meh. I have not paid attention to the Europe team as much. Beef did win overseas and had a better year than Fitzpatrick.
But I'm not scrutinizing the RC picks. I'm just saying that guys like Kuchar, Speith, Garcia, Beef, Reed, etc. do more to promote the sport with their personalities than DJ. He's a stiff.
