However, it's wrong to accuse someone just because they are off to a hot start. Ibanez has always had good numbers, now he is in a hitters park. It should be no suprise that he is hitting well.

No doubt, and Ibanez says that in the article... he knows he's not above suspicion but it's one thing to test positive and another to accuse. I think he's gone about it the right way, maybe a bit brash, but saying he would allow the league to test him anyway they feel necessary to show that he's not juiced.

I agree. He is in a tough spot. If he keeps his mouth shut, some people might see that as a sign of guilt. If he is clean, he should go on the offensive - just like he did.

Raúl Javier Ibáñez. If I was gay (and he wasn't married), I'd propose. The man is awesome.

Madson records his second save in as many days and the Phils win 6-3 in 10 innings.
The Phillies lead the Mets by 4 games in the NL East standings.

Great trip for the World Champs. Time to start playing at home like they do on the road.

Maybe they should just stay on the road. :shake: They've lost the first two games to the Sox and get their best pitcher today.

Phils take the rubber match, 11-6. Beckett takes the loss, and Pedro Feliz stays hot! :thumb:

I wish it were the rubber match. The Sox won the first two games. The Phils needed this one to avoid the sweep.

And two out of three in Philly is acceptable...

Good luck the rest of the season because I don't want to see the Dodgers make the WS....

Unfortunately for the Phillies, that has been the norm this year. The Phils need to start winning at home, I doubt that they will maintain their current pace on the road.

Can't really complain about trading 11-6 games with the BoSox and having the series decided by a 13-inning game where your potential game-winning 3-run shot by Dobbs in the 11th goes an inch right of the foul pole (according to the ump at least).

That's about as evenly matched a series as you can get, and the Sox put up two of their better pitchers while the Phils started two rookies and a head case.

I liked what I saw from the Phils. Let's hope the AL wins the All-Star game so the Phils can start on the road again, like they did in Tampa.

I thought the ball was foul - but it was close. I don't understand why the umps didn't use replay to check the call. Why have replay if the umps aren't going to use it. The ball Dobbs hit was definetly close enoung to warrant replay.

Ryan Madson walks in the tying run in the 9th, the Phillies lose 8-3 in 10 innings.

It's amazing how bad the Phillies suck at home.

Unbelievable. Ryan Howard continues the sloppiness by chucking a sure double-play ball into left field. JC Romero can't buy a strike, and then Madson also gets behind just about every batter, then gets hit all over the field, than gets wild when he needs a K.

You're right 86. The Phils are a disaster at home and it makes no sense. Four games under .500 at home and fourteen games over .500 on the road. WTF?

Interleague Play + Playing @ home == Miserable 9 game stretch

If I were Rueben Amaro, I'd look into the possibilty of moving all games out of CBP. Seriously guys... WTF?
Ah, my story had a big thing in it too. You just didn't give it time to develop.

The Phillies lose at home again. Jays score 3 in the first and go on to win 7-1. The Phillies are in first by 3 games, but this losing at home thing really sucks.

The Phillies are 8-17 at home against teams other than the Washington Natinals. Also, the Phillies have not won a series at home all year except for the two against Washington.

Phillies lose 8-7 to the Jays.

Toronto uses 7 pitchers and completes the sweep in Philadelphia.

It's clear the Phillies play better in front of a hostile audience. Since the Phils won the WS last year, the home fans aren't booing enough.

The Phils might want to consider batting first and wearing their away jerseys from now on at Citizens Bank Park.

Perhaps you should write and Op-ed article to the Inquirer encouraging Philly Phans to boo the team to show their support. "Booooooooooo Jayson Werth! What you think that .261 average is good enough!?!? Those other offensive stats you have are meaningless.... both you and Howard should be ashamed of your pathetic batting averages!"
